Evening allWell I did find some mojo and got some cleaning done. This was things like cleaning the bits of silver. Sounds posh but in reality it is mostly silver plate or inherited. I also cleaned the big bookcase removing all the books to clean under them, Inside our display cabinets including the glas doors. I even did the ironing and hoovering. There are still a couple of jobs to do but the worst is done. It will now be just dusting and hoovering. One intersting thing at least I thought it was. On the top of the display cabinets are boxes with the ashes of our previous dogs with each of their collars on top. When I got them down to clean the boxes and the collars Bear was very actively smelling them even the one for our first collie who died several years ago. I would have thought any scent would have long gone bearing in mind Mr LH and several people smoke and we use scented candles sometimes.I ventured into the attic and Christmas is now residing in the bedroom. I was going to write Christmas cards this afternoon but I found what I thought were Christmas cards are money wallets so will have to get some tomorrow. I usually buy them in January but remeber now I couldnt finds any I liked.I have had a email from the land people with the plans which will hopefully solve the drain problem. Their alternative plan is to have access through the garden but I am not happy about this as they are wanting a strip along the whole length of the garden 10 metres wide. This is about a third of it. That will greatly reduce the value of the property and so far there has been no monetry offer for it. I have written to the solicitor and wait to see what he says. If I dont agree to this it renders the development land worthless as there will be no access to it. Please all keep your fingers crossed there wont be a problem with the depth of the drain in which case no problem. I wont know anything more until January/ February time depending on the weather.I was watching the news earlier and apparently there are still people not that far away who have still not had their electriclty restored after the weekends storm. They had someone from National grid on whose only reply oft repeated they areworkng very hard to restore power to everyone. It dodnt seem to bother them that people had been left in the cold with no facilities to cook.
On that note have a good evening.4 -
Fingers crossed that the depth of the drain is the right depth. What a palaver.2

I can only hope because I am not happy at the developers trying to purloin a fair chunk of the garden which may end my sale and make the property worth far less. To say I am angry at the cheek is an understatement while I ubnderstand their reasoning I do expect them to at least make some compensatory payment. All this will be for the benefit of the charity but may leave me severely out of pocket. I am trying to forget about it at the moment but that is hard.2

Evening allA trip to buy Christmas cards and get some more of the Christmas food shop. I was very impressed with a young man at the bus stop on my home (raining so no scooter). There were 3 of us us at the bus stop and while one lady went first the young man who was already at the bus stop when I got there stood back and let me get on first. It is lovely when you see a youngster with nice manners as so many seem not to have. I wished his Mum was around as I would love to have told her. was very grateful and said so.I have finished to extra pre Christmas clean and written the cards I bought earlier. I may go out to post them tomorrow depending on the weather.Money wise far too much being spent but I will sort it after Christmas as I am not in the right frame of mind for money wrangling at the moment.Have a good evening.5

Lovely to hear about such a well mannered young man. There are quite a few around I’ve found even the ones who look like they’re not.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)2

Evening allThis will be very short as I have done nothing as I woke up feeling very dizzy and somewhat grotty. I was having a very vivid dream that has left me out of sorts all day. I cant tell you what it was as I dont remember but it wasnt nice.Bank account checked and a payment made to the housekeeping account to account for extras for Christmas not to mention the alcohol for Mr LH. I literally have the occasional glass of wine with a meal and thats it. I can feel rather squiffy on that. What used to be clled a cheap date.Thats about it. Have a good evening and for those who watch strictly I hope you are enjoying it and your chosen winner is just that. I am stuck with Rory McGrath and bl**dy Britain.3

Just gentle hugs @ladyholly.
@beanielou we have a similar issue in my local authority, if you get pip or DLA then you qualify. If you don't it's practically impossible. Nothing to do with the doctors, it's a local authority decision. My mum gave up, she was reliant on oxygen and had very limited mobility - her specialist (heart and lungs) was appalled, wrote to the LA and sorted it.5 -
One of the first questions on the form is do you get attendance allowance which I do so hoping that helps.Evening allFeeling much more like me today thank godness. The Christmas cards are finished and in the post.Shopping list part done for this week and next. It will be a combined one so I shouldnt have too much to get in the couple of days before Christmas. The tree will go up later this week, probably either Thursday or Friday. I dont like it up too early probably stemming from working with young children many years ago when decorations going up early just got them thoroughly over excited.A few listings done but nothing will go live until either Christmas day or boxing day.Mr LHs big tool box has joined the kitchen unit from the car in the conservatory. Its a good job we dont really use it in the winter. He is threatening to mend the back gate damaged in storm Darragh tomorrow. The lounge has been dusted as I could write my name in the dust.Have a good evening.3

I can't believe you are struggling to get a disabled badge. I got one with no issue at all last year & all I needed to say was that I was waiting for a hip replacement op. I only used it a couple of times before I no longer needed it. It is still valid but I don't use it because I would feel like a fraud as the hip-hop was extremely successful. The h was not a spelling error as the op has allowed me to now hop.
