He takes him for 2 reasons. Firstly Mr H loves going as he gets lots of burgers and sausages from other people and secondly he gives Mr LH confidence to be among other people. Mr LH used to be a very sociable person but after a situation in his workplace about 15 years ago he lost that and fell into a bad depression. Although the depression is much better he still has severe social anxiety and doesnt goes out on his own except occassionally to a shop he knows well. He was also forced out of his job which he loved. His workplace did not support him. I like to think if the same situation occurred now it would be handled differently.

We have a nice new fence. I have moved most things back but have run out of steam. A very spendy day as I have paid for the fence.

I have at last spoken to a GP about my head from when I fell and he is sending me forr a scan as I am still getting quite bad headaches. I dont know when it will be but fairly soon I hope. I dont think there is any real damage but it will be good to know for certain.

Gosh it has been warm today and I certainly didnt envy the fencers working outside. I have done very little other than piccking up my prescripion this morning and moving the garden stuff this evening and now I am going to relax in front of the TV.

Good Morning to anyone reading this drivel.
How the weather has changed. I actually had to put a jacket on to take the little one for her first walk. It is much better for me.

Mr LH and Mr H will be home later so my peace will be shattered. I havent managed to do all I was hoping for but they are away again in about 10 days. This was mainly due to the fencers coming and me using my energy in moving plant pots etc so they could get to it and then moving them all back.

I was going to buy bread and milk yesterday but I have put it off as I know I would end up getting other stuff and we should have enough so I spent anything this weekend. Neither have I done my budget so that is a job for this morning before the males get home.

I am also planning on propogating the strawberry runners. I havent done it before but it doesnt look too hard from the videos I have watched. Thats assuming the rain stays as drizzle. I dont mind getting a bit wet. In fact after the recent weather it will be a pleasure. A quick dust and hoover is also on the cards. By the time I have done all that I will have had enough until time to cook this evening. Pork chops I think as that is easy and can be held for tomorrow if Mr LH doesnt want to eat as sometimes happens when he has travelled.

There is going to be a jumble trail in this area at te end of the month. If there are any houses taking part nearby I will go and have a look. For any one who hasnt come across them before its a bit like a car boot but people sell from the front of the own homes and it is free. The organiser publishes a map just before the event so you know where there are sellers.

It's not usually difficult getting strawberry runners to root, @ladyholly. I did mine last week. I needed about 6 replacement plants for next year, so I just filled 6 pots with compost, selected the strongest looking runners & planted them up. After a few weeks, they'll have rooted, so I will cut off the connecting stem & they'll be new independent little plants. When I've planted up sufficient each year, I snip any surplus unwanted runners off the main plants so that they don't waste their energy on them.

They do one of those trails where I live too, we had ours earlier this month although we didn’t go.

Enjoy your last bit of peace before the boys return.

Evening all. They are back! Mr H seems happy to be home and immediately wanted to go to the green at the front of the house to check who had been around and then settled in the shade in the garden. It has ended the day sunny and very warm.

I have done the strawberries so will see what happens.. I have warned Mr LH not to move the pots. The other jobs were completed before the sun came out so didnt get too hot. Emptying the car this evening was a different matter as I ended up panting and very hot. All fine now.

A tiny ebay sale so usual Monday trip to the PO and to al** and Sain***** to get things that either T dont sell or are cheaper elsewhere. I worked out a budget and realised that we are spending far too much on I am not sure what so keeping track in August to find out where the money is going. Mr LH has already announce we need gas for the car cooker and of course Mr H has a vet appointment tomorrow, the little one has her kennel cough vaccination next Monday and I am going to see my BiL on Wdenesday. When the loan is finished I plan to build up amonths worth of direct debits and food budget and work from that. Then all other incoming will go into a separate account to pay other bills. Sounds odd but I think iit will work for me.

I am also looking to use cash for groceries so I can keep a much stricter eye on what is going out. I work better in cash as I can see it disappearing. (an age thing?) I find it too easy to spend on my card and not take it into account.

Have a peaceful evening with whatever your chosen tipple is.

    Evening all.
I knew this month was going to be expensive but I wasnt expecting the start its had. I did buy a pair of shoes this morning. I think these are the thing I spend most on because of an injury severaal yers ago I walk on the side of my foot which wears down the whole side of any shoe. I have had physio but that didnt help. I have tried espensive shoes and cheap shoes and the longest they last is between two and three months. I also find it hard to find them anyway as they have to be lace ups or bars with a buckle. Velcro doesnt hold my foot securely enough. That was £22 I have given up on pricier one as they are not cost effective.

Mr H was at the vet this afternoon which was another £78 but at least now he has some painkillers. We are hoping they dont upset his stomach as it can be a bit iffy. £100 gone and its only the 1st. We also have 2 birthdays -DD and DGD later in the month.

If I can keep to my budget it will be a miracle but I can only try.

I have picked my first cucumber which I am pleased about as they kept being eaten earlier in the year. I think I tried 3 lots of seeds before I managed to get a couple of plants.

I did have another tiny ebay sale which was paid for just before I went to the PO so I could post it along with yesterdays sale. When it hits the bank account I think I will be able to transfer money to the loan. Only £10.00 but every little helps. I am hoping to bring a little bit more stuff from my BiL so that may help.

Time for dog walking so Goodnight.

I am annoyed this morning. I don't know what others think but let me explain. Since the women's football team won the euro on Sunday all the media have gone into overdrive about their achievement.  While not taking anything from them I can only think about all those other women who have struggled o failed to gain recognition in their chosen field. Artists, engineers,  scientist, writers etc who are either forgotten or unknown.  Who knew that it was brunel wife who solved some of the problems of building the Bristol suspension ? I didn't until recently and there are many many more example of a lack of recognition or simply being written out of history. Yes the team did brilliantly but let us not forget all the other unknown women who have achieved amazing thing

Sorry for the rant but i had to get it off my chest.
