Vet bill sorted. For some obscure reason they didnt charge for Mr H kennel cough vaccine when I paid for the others. That was a relief I didnt have the same problem as last time.

We were lucky and had rain down south yesterday so much cooler today. Still have my fan on though but not all day just in small bursts when get too warm.

I'm dreading next year when my mortgage fix and energy fix both end. Not sure how will cope. Hopefully I will have a better paying job by then.

Hope it's a bit cooler for you and everyone else this evening.  There was a reasonable breeze here so I went for a 30 minute walk at about 6.

My thoughts are with you re the mortgage and utilities. I dont know what the answer is but there are going to be a lot of people with similar worries. As Martin pointed out today the avrerage utility bill is going to be approx 1/3 of someones old age pension, something is going to have to be done and the big problem isnt the amount of gas and electric you use its the standing charge which we can do nothing about. I dont think tinkering with tax and the odd few pence of fuel duty is going to cut it. Something radical needs to be done.

Its been fine tody outside but our house takes ages to cool down after hot weather. (I blame the neighbours :D). I had the lounge window open when Mr LH came down today and the tempertaure had dropped to a pleasant 22.5. He complained it was cold so I had to shut the window. We took the dogs out about an hour later and then went shopping and by the time we got home it was back up to 26. I just wish we could save the heat for the winter as he spends all winter complaing he is cold even with thick jumper and thermals.

Shopping was almost £100 this week  :o:'( but he is away at a festival next week so a proportion of that was alcohol  and also some of the food he will need. Mr T***o did grant me about £800 off with clubcard deals so tha was a little help. Nothing doing on ebay this week and I am not sure what to do as I still have a fair number of books to get rid of. I am considering facebook but people tend to mess you about on theer so I will have a think. I might try a few while he is away as then I can genuinely say I cant deliver which takes awy one hassle.Of course people are more concerned with holidays, children being home so I suppose the lack of sales is understandable.

Off now to watch last nights hotel inspector (I know I have strange taste but it keeps me happy) Have a peaceful and cool night everyone.

Agghh. Just realised its not on until Thursday. I would be dangerous if I had a brain. I cant even blame the weather as I have nice cool air come in from the open doors. I do wish we could get some rain though. There were half a dozen spots yesterday and thats it. They keep promising showers but no sig in the forecast until Friday. Nope just looked its now Sunday.

I wouldn't use facewipe for selling anything. Bum tree is another I avoid .
Horses for courses etc . If books aren't very valuable, would donating them to an animal charity shop be worthwhile?

Yes, we need rain . Having said that , some areas will have a thunderstorm. We'll get some rain eventually ..

Yes I saw his video it's very scary listening. Especially as it's around that time my lodger will be looking to move out. Of course providing she can afford it then.

If only we could store all this extra heat! Would save us all a fortune. I find fb very frustrating when comes to selling. Some people are very good whereas others not so much and just mess you around. But persevere if you can as some things sell better on there and think books is probably one of those things

I have to say "facewipe" have done well for us in paying down the loan.  Most of the books have come from my late mother and sister so no they arent especially valuable. I have donated some but the difficulty to donating them for me is books are heavy and there is no convenient charity shop of any kind that is easy for me to get to without carrying them a distance. Most do not even have parking nearby so MrLH could take me in the car and he is not always open to doing that especially with the price of fuel at the moment. Our car is diesel and not particularly cheap to run. Weu sed to use vegetable oil to reduce the cost but the price of that is about the same as diesel now. We have that car as Mr LH uses it for his sestival weekends and we used to do a fair number of car boot sales. We could fit in 3 tables , plus stuff to sell, 3 dogs and us with no problem and it has a little kitchen unit so we didnt have to pay for teas, coffees etc. We have had to give these up as my all the local ones have closed except one which is held in a field which is so rutted we considier it dangerous as my balance is very poor and the large ruts tend to be hidden by the long grass. On the few occasions we have tried it we have seen several people fall and at least one person come off their mobility scooter. The other one is further away but they charge £16.00 for a vehicle our size and even before covid it cost about 15.00 in fuel so it is uneconomic for us.

I will work it out and certainly some of the books will end up in the charity shop but certainly not untill the weather is much cooler when i might be able to manage tte walk.

Apolgies for stange spelling in the previous post. Big job for today is starting to move all the pots ready for the fencing guy. We still dont have a date but as Mr LH is going away from Wednesday -  Sunday and one of the things that has to be moved is and old trailer tent I cant move on my own we want to make sure everthing is ready in case he come the week after next. He did say he is running behind due to the hot weather but gave no indication of how far behind he is in terms of days of work.

Anyway onwards and upwards I am off to make a start on shifting stuff.

I did move most of the plants yesterday except the tomatoes. They need to stay where they are for as long as possible for the sun. All the others are against the house and dont get nearly as much sun. One of my rose bushes tried to eat my finger when I move it so ended up with blood on my blouse. The trailer still needs moving but hopefully Mr LH will do that over the weekend. The other side of the garden will need moving but I can do that on my own and I am leaving it until the last minute. Hopefully we will hear soon when the fencers are coming.

I have spent far too much this week although to be fair a lot of it is for Mr LH to take away with him so about a week and half done this week.  I am going to sit down while Mr LH is away to do a proper budget as at the moment I am just working from one week to the next. The complicated way our pensions are paid doesnt help but I am sure there is a better way. I know there is very little spare money from our pensions so I will have to see what I can do. It would help if Mr LH would give up smoking but I dont see that happening although he has cut down.

This afternoon we had a look at the kennels where the dogs will be going in October and have booked them in. They will hate it but it is only a few days. I know it is a while off but they get booked up early and a friend reminded me that the time we are away is half term.  Although I have money put away for it I want to try to pay for some of it out of normal spending as it comes to just under £200 for the four and a half days.

Off now as Mr LH is getting nosey about what I am doing
