My temperature limit is a fair bit lower than yours. I am not looking forward to next week at all. We dont have a bath only the shower so collecting that is more difficult. I, too have arthritis in my hands as well as various other places.

It has been a hot day today not helped ny littles tummy trouble and wanting to go out frequently. I think we have been out about 12 times so far today. I am very worried about her as things are not improving and we were only given meds for 3 days. She is only eating if I hand feed her in tiny pieces and isnt drinking much. I will be phoning the vet in the morning. We have had a nice roast beef dinner this evening with a bottle of Cava, well I had a glass and Mr LH will drink the rest. It doesnt keep dows it?Nothing else to say other than I am shattered and Mr LH hasnt been a lot of help. He got up about 12 and went back to bed about 2pm until I took him a cup of tea at 6pm. While I was watering the tomatoes he came into the garden and was all concerned as I was having breathing trouble. He is going to take Mr H out shortly thank goodness. I am not sure I would make it and now my head is hurting again but I really cant be bothered to find some paracetamol. It seems a long way to the kitchen.Have a good evenong amd roll on bedtime.2

My head is up and down and has been since it met the radiator rather hard. Sometimes paracetamol helps but often doesnt. I wish I could buy more than 2 packets at a time as with Mr H having 1 a day and me having two at a time and sometimes 3 times a day they dont last long.A productive morning as I woke early and couldnt get back to sleep. Garden watered and ironong done by 7.30am.. I went to the post office early to post a couple of parcels and they served me at their small counter before 9am so I didnt have to queue. They advertise they are open at 7am but not all the staff are trained so it is hit and miss. Little one back at the vet as she had MrLH out twice last night (he hadnt gone to bed). They gave her a good examination and an injection to help relax her tummy and some more promax paste which she doesnt like. I put it on my finger, open her mouth and shove it in. I am not popular. She also has some gastro intestinal food which should help. Anyway she has seemed perkier today and has slept. Yesterday she was very restless as she was probably in pain. We will see what tomorrow brings.I have given up trying to budget this month. Shopping today has cost a small fortune plus the vet bill and Mr LH decided we should get some gas for the cooker in the van for possible power cuts in the winter. He has decided not to go to his festival as he is worried about the little one so that will save about £100 on diesel plus his spending money , alcohol etc. I am hoping I can recoup some of the money spent as the monyth progresses.Spring onions and another cucumber picked so that it a saving and a load of washing done and dried outside so no cluttering the bedroom with the rack. Small savings but I suppose every little helps and I have sent £30 to the loan account from this weekends sales so we are now just under £900 left to pay.Time to end as it is my turn to take MrH on his last walk. Goodnight and sleep well.1

Do you have a pharmacy nearby you could go to? You can buy bigger packs of paracetamol in them than the SM.2

We do but due to past problems there ssuch as their conversations about their personal lives being more importantthan helping a customer I wont go in there but thank you for the suggestion. I might try one in town when I next head there. It wont be this week due to the hot weather.

I'd just go & buy 2 packs at multiple shops, @ladyholly. It's what I had to do at New Year when I had that horrendous toothache.....I didn't want to risk running out of co-codamol so bought plenty in from a variety of pharmacies.

Hello! Just found your diary and read through. You are doing so well managing everything. Great job with all the sales and cracking down the loan.
I hope you are ok in this heat, it's too much."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee1 -
Thank you jwil. I think I am actually coping with the heat better than Mr LH which is strange given he is such a chilly mortal. My coping is I dont do anything unless it is actually vital. We are living on salad. Today I picked 2 small cucmbers and the first couple of tomatoes. I dont have a lot of veg as this year was largely experimental but am quite pleased with how things have done. The propogated strawberries appear to be happy so far so hopefully will have more than 3 fruits next year. I am using as much grey water as possible even though we dont have a water shortage here yet. Our water authority is very good from that point of view. I was quite peeved when someone told me he had been watering his lawn!!! Why? The grass will recover pretty quickly.
Up very early again to walk the dogs so will be glad come next week when I can lie in until 7am.I have sold 3 little items so they will be posted on Monday. That will be another £10 to the loan accont. The dd goes out this week so the debt will be in the £700s. We are getting there but it does seem slow now we are getting close.I had a lovely few minutes early this morning as one of our neighbours was giving his German Shepherd pup his first walk outside their garden He was very nervous so I sat on the ground with a few treats inmy hand and started by throwing them to him. Bythe time he had finished he was happy to come to me. As I spend a lot of time on the green with the little one it was important that he isnt scared of me. I will probably have to repeat a few times but it will help with his socialisation. I think the vast majority of house round here have at least one dog and many of them come onto the grassy area as well as those from further afield.Last night when we took the dogs to the bigger area over the road I think there were about 12 dogs. All off lead and no problems with any of them. It was lovely. We have lost one of the goldfish from the pond, probably due to the heat which is sad.Right thats it for today as I have a bit of listing to do for ebay. I do find it boring but the money has really helped bring the loan down.Keep as cool as you can and hope you can sleep in the heat for the next couple of nights.2
