    I think it's a good price too.

That's a brilliant price.  The guy who cuts our bit of lawn (which is fairly small) charges us £25.

    Evening all

Thank you for your comments re the cost of lawn cutting. They arent very big but he does a really good job including the edges which our neighbour doesnt do and he makes sure there are no odd bits of grass on the paths so I am happy and Mr LH will do as hes told. :D:D

More listing today. I keep thinking I am getting through it and then I realise that there is still a lot and obviously not everything sells so I tend to take things off after a while  for a few weeks and then re list at a different time of year. Its a good job I dont work as it all takes time.

The green bin is out for the mornning so I will be able to do some more with the hydrangea by the door this week.

Hoovering done and Mr LH has cleaned out the posh one I brought back from my bil. It was filthy and completely bunged up but is now beautifully clean.

I have started to go through some old paperwork I brought home in case there is anything important that could be passed to any new owners. So far it seem to be mainly solicitors letter about various matter that they had to deal with.

Roast pork dinner cooked, eaten and cleared away and there wll be enough for a risotto tomorrow which we havent had for a while.I was quite pleased as it was a smaller joint than I can usually get from Tesco so that is a saving. I just wish we had a butcher nearby as the meat from sm isnt the best.

Bear booked into his field for tomorrow but I had to have an earlier appointment as our usual one was already booked. That will get Mr LH out of bed earlier than usual.

I have a parcel to post in the morning which is going to be a bit of a rush with having to going to the alternative one but I should make it ok.

I thinks thats it for today. Have a good eveing

Out early to the post office to post 2 parcels. I used the scooter and timed the journey out of interest. It took approx 15 minutes each way. The bus, according to the time timeateable takes about 12 minutes but I have to wait for it and it doesnt run at particularly convenient times so the scooter it is unless its raining hard. I have now got the cover for the tiller so can use it in light rain. Its also door to door which the bus isnt.

Out to the field with Bear who was doing pretty well on his recall this week. He does vary from week to week but enjoys his time there anyway.

I have had loads of photos from the house clearance man who has done a really good job. He hasnt quite finished due the awful weather last week but will finish on Wednesday. He is eslewhere tomorrow but I am very pleased with his work.

The weather appears to be getting colder at night so winter quilt now on Mr LHs bed. Recycling out for tomorrow and I have finished cutting down the hydrangea as the green bin has been emptied - it's almost full again now but not much more to cut down at the moment except the branches from next door which are hanging over the fence. I dont mind them but when they die down they make a mess on the paved area at the bottom of the garden.

Tomorrow morrning I will do some shopping at Sainsbury before we do the bigger shop at Tesco in the afternoon.

    Have a good evening.
  • I'm so pleased you're pleased with the house clearance man.

I hope you realise how blimmin much you've been doing, and it's not *just* the practical stuff (which has been so, so much), all of what you've been and are still doing is in the context of your BIL passing, and emotional things and all their associations are so very tiring. And with your health issues. And with Mr LH not being able to give much support. And with your dedicated Bear responsibilities.
I am so impressed, and hope (though I know you're not doing it for this reason) that you get a decent financial reward from it that will benefit your life.

Great that the scooter is earning it's keep. Glad Bear is enjoying life, it brought a smile to my face to see the return of the sniffari.
It ain't 'alf turned chilly, Mr LH's quilt sounds a good idea indeed

I agree with what PiP says.

Glad the clearance has gone well, and good news about the scooter which should help make things a little more convenient for you.

I have had two pieces of good news today. Firstly the solicitor has paid the inheritance tax so that is on its way and secondly our local post office is partially open again. That will make things easier tomorow when I need to do some shoping and post a parcel. The shopping is because the trip to Tesco wasn't as planned as they are in the middle of a big upgrade and stock move so they didnt have half the things I wanted. If I had known we would have gone elsewhere.

I didnt go out on the scooter when I went to buy some packing stuff  as there were big black clouds and the forecast said heavy rain. In the end  there was just a little drizzle but better sake than ruin the scooter. A little bit of cleaning done on my return and three loads of washing. I am trying to get blankets, seat covers etc done before the weather gets much colder.

I asked Mr LH if he was nice and cosy with his winter quilt and he complained he was too hot. I just laughed and told him better too warm than too cold.

Nothing else for tomight have a good one.
