Evening allA useful day. The deep fat fryer has been cleaned and the kitchen floor given a good clean on my hands and knees rather than using a mop. I find this cleans better as I can get in the corners etc. The only snag is I have to get up off the floor.
I also did a bit of gardening before the rain started. I have shoved some stuff in a bag ready to go away tomorrow and booked Bear in to the field for run before I leave. I wont get to bil before about 7pm which is a pain but otherwise Bear would have missed out and he will be upset enough at me going away.for 2 nights.
We seem to have missed out on the treatened thunder I'm glad to say.Rosta chicken dinner cooked and cleared away. I am loving the dishwasher. That it for tonight. Have a good evening.3 -

Hope the journey and the house clearance go smoothly.
you are very diligent and efficient with all the paperwork associated with your brother in law's estate. Hope you get it all finalised as soon as it can be.2 -
Blimey, I didn't realise that about IHT ladyholly, that is nightmarish! And for the solicitors to not have kept you up to date in return beggars belief when they must be fully aware of the whole situation.
Sending lots of support and hope the travelling and clearance go as well as is possible

I didn't know that about IHT either, how ridiculous! You'd think they'd allow time enough for the money to be raised from selling the house etc.
Hope this week goes well."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee2 -
It is possible to pay IHT in instalments over 10 years. But only the first one payment is interest free and even then to find that kind of money every year would be a struggle on a pensioners income. There is nothing to say the house will sell quickly
especially as I will be selling coming in to winter.
Not sleeping as you can tell from the time of this post. The bed here very uncomfortable for me. Journey down was ok but the trains were very busy.
I have heard from Morrisons re the post office and the internet problem remains so it is still closed. They are trying to find a solution but there is no time frame so who knows when it will be open.
Nothing else to report and I must try to sleep as the house clearance people will be here between 7. 30 and 8
Hope. You have had a good day4 -

Morning allI am home thank goodness. The clearance is going well but another couple of days needed as there was so much. I have left them to it as I was hampering the progress a bit having to live in the house alongside the clearance. I hope that will be the last time I need to go down as the journey is awful and it can be a bit emotional being there on my own.The journey down went well except at Southampton staion. I went to the lift to change platdorm and there was a sign telling people to find a member of staff to use it. Guess what! There wasnt a staff member in sight so had to haul my gage up the steps. The lift going down was fine but surely a staff member should be handy when a train comes in.especially as many people at the station have a lot of luggage as they are heading for the cruise ships.I will post properly later. Have a good day.6
