    Well done Bear.
We do seem to be in a good phase on the whole. I think at last he is trusting us as much as he can trust anyone. Taking a dog who was feral and fearful from abroad and then rehoming him when the owners couldn't cope has certainly made him very difficult but we do seem to be making progress. He isn't our first difficult dog but he has taken longer to settle than the others. Of course we have no idea what happened to him before he came to the UK.
    You are just amazing.

You are very kind. There are many people who are much better than us. We just try to listen to what the dogs are telling us. We have also watched a lot of training stuff on the internet and try different things until we find one that seems to work. Like people dogs are all different and therefore need different things. What we do have is plenty of time and patience.
We were fooled a bit by Bear as we didnt take into account how the upset of changing owners would affect him. I suspect because he has almost certainly had a pretty rotten life before coming to the UK taking away what was possibly his first loving secure home was devastating to him so not oly did he revert to previous behaviours it has taken him a long time to trust and listen. Even now after 13 months his trust in us to keep him safe only goes so far.

Sorry to all about the dog stuff. I could talk about dogs all day. I once dod a mini craft fair in a vets surgery. It was the best as I could ttalk dogs all day without boring people. Really looking forwards to Crufts starting tomorrow.

Out to the PO first thing (well my first thing bearing in mind I cant use my bus pass untill after 9am) and picked up some items that Mr T didnt have yesterday. Also called in to HB for some cleaning stuff. Saved £3.50 on washing pods so it was worth the effort of the extra walk. Also bought some seed trays as I have run out. Planted some yellow cougettes and they are now on my bedroom window cill. Spinach planted. It might be too cold for it yet but its worth a go. I have also planted some spring onion seeds and popped them in the greenhouse along with the minimum/maximum thermometer so I can see how cold it is getting. I spoke to soon when I said it was getting warmer as there was another frost last night with quite thick fog this morning but it had cleared by the time I went out. Once it hasd cleared it has been a beautiful sunny day although not that warm when out with Bear. It was nice in the garden though as its surrounded on all 4 sides. My bedroom is now officially full of planted seeds or seedlings.

My eye has felt gritty today which is annoying but as far as I can tell it is healing ok. Drops been administered properly but struggling to remember not to bend over. It is such an automatic thing to do.

Job for tomorrow is the ironing. Oh Joy! There is quite a pile as I wait until there is a decent amount before I do it.

Meals. Breakfast - oats and fruit, lunch- sardines with b & b, dinner, beans on toast with a slice of bacon. Not enough veg today but I will make it up tomorrow and there has been loads of fruit. Snacks Yoghurt, grapes and banana.

You’ve done an amazing job with Bear.

Well done on the 1lb weight loss.

It was foggy here too first thing then cleared to be a beautiful sunny day and not bad in the sun. Spring is coming.

I do hope so. It has seemed a long winter even though it's not been that cold.

Morning all. Last day of Crufts today so I will be back to posting in the evening as usual.

The council tax bill arrived yesterday. Up by about 5% which I suppose isnt too bad in the great scheme of things. I am sure the bill increases since January add up to more than the rise in my state pension so not good. I dont know what if any rise there will be in my private pension as it always take them ages to tell me. I will certainly be paying more tax thanks to this government choosing to tell pensioners their pension rise is enough and dont need anything else. How can they possibly think that giving the poorest in society - not just pensioners very little if anything is right I dont know. To keep the personal allowance the same until 2028 is going to put almost everyone in the tax paying majority. I am even more convinced that all MPs shoud, before they take their seat, have to live on the national minimum wage for at least three months, universal credit or the state pension with no access to their savings investments etc. It might concentrate their minds somewhat. Sorry for the rant.

I acheived most of my plans for yesterday but didnt get into the garden. I did however find mould in the conservatory so have cleaned off what I can reach. I will get the big step ladder down in the next day or two and do the rest. I did show Mr LH hoping he would do it but no joy. Todays jobs are doing what I planned in the garden and cleaning the deep fat fryer.

Meals planned for today. Breakfast - oats and fruit, lunch - salad, scrambled egg and b & b. Dinner - Roast chicken & assorted veg. Snacks yoghurt and banana.
