Poor Bear last night we both took him out with torches and a walking stick to prevent a dog coming near us but all he want to do is come home as fast as possible. He is usually very aware when its dark but was hyper vigilant last night.

Hope the WD40 did the trick!
How much stuff is left for you to take from BILs? Could Mr LH drive you there once so you can all fill up the car so on future visits you're not having to lug a full suitcase back?

I am clearing mainly books at the moment and there are at least 8 x 6ft bookcase so even if Mr LH took the car we couldnt clear them all due to weight and consideration for the suspension. The main reasons he doesnt take me is firstly we would need someone to look after Bear as the garden there isnt secure and he has a cat. The second reason is the cost. To take our car which is an old camper (not VW) would be very expensive and also very tiring for Mr LH to do in the day. It isnt the distance but the difficulty of the trip. Whichever way we go it is about three and a half hours driving which is too much for someone drives under 4000 miles a year. I think it was two thousand and something last year. The suitcase trips will continue and it does mean i can list them very gradually and if they dont sell just donate them to the charity shop.

Oh what an awful experience for Bear and Mr LH. What a nasty irresponsible man your neighbour is 🤬 I hope he at least gets a visit from the dog warden if nothing else.

We have had an acknowledgement of our complaint to the dog warden so we will see if we hear anything else. Bear was much more relaxed on his walk last night despite all the coming and going with the settee and chair. We had to move the computer, speakers, TV and desk to allow for room to get the new settee through the patio winow and get the old one out. My goodness there was a huge amount of dust and general grime behime the desk not to mention a birds nest of cabling. Everything is now clean and put back and we have a lovely new settee and chair. Bear was put in our car with a friend while the removal man was here and had lots of treats. We were working until about 9.30pm to put everything back so I was shattered when I went to bed. My legs are still tired this morning so I struggled a bit walking Bear. However all went well and even the weather was kind and the rain stayed off until after everything was in the house.

All the work was worth it though and for under £100 we have an almost new leather suite and that includes some cider for the friend that helped move things and flowers for his partner who did all the van and man organisation and the man and van. I think that was an absolute bargain. The awful thing is that most of the rest of the house contents went in a skip as would our stuff if we hadnt had it. The present owners of the housemade no attempt to find a new home for any of it. It was the lady buying it and our mutual friend who manged to clear a few items.

meals yesterday. Breakfast - oats and fruit, lunch - soft cheese and cucumber sandwich, dinner - pork chop, broccoli, carrots and runner beans. Snack banana and yoghurt.

    Good evening all.

Yes I am enjoying the new settee as it is hisher than the old one so I dont have the same struggle to get out of. Today has been quite busy. I have finished listing the stuff I brought home the other day and have at last listed the job lot I have made up. I dont know if it will sell but if not it will go to the charity shop. Kitchen floor given a good clean and the cupboard doors washed down. The cover that was on the old settee has been washed and when its fully dry will go on the new one to help save the leather from Bears claws. Roast beef dinner cooked and eaten and there is enough left for tomorrow. Lounge and conservatory hoovered and also had a few stains cleaned. I dont know if they have gone but I will see in the morning. Some washing done a couple of days ago put away and some mending done and a little bit of weeding done - yes the path is already sprouting weeds.  Phew no wonder my legs ache.

No money spent but no money earned either. No sales and only one low paying survey but hopefully will get to £15 this week.

The weather today has been fairly good as the rain that meny have had passed us in the night, we even had sun this afternoon and it was quite warm when we took Bear for a walk. He was rather unsettled today after a dog belonging to someone we were talking to started barking at another dog but when I took the lead from Mr LH he calmed. Mr LH does tend to tense when anything happens when he walks Bear so he picks up on this down his lead.

Meals. Breakfast - oats and fruit, lunch - baked beans and b&b, diner roast beef yorkshire pudding cauliflower, broccoli, carrots and a glass of Cava. We are celebrating the new settee  :D

    Have a good week ahead.

    Evening all.

Visit to the sm to get some compost, bananas and Mr LHs cigarettes. Washed the covers from the suite in the conservaatory. The cover I use on the old settee doesnt fit the new one - Bah. Not serious but slightly irritating.

I planted some spinach a couple of weeks ago and thought there was nothing coming through but on a closer look today there are some tiny green shoots so hope restored. The courgettes I ut in the greenhouse seem to be surviving so have added tomatoes and planted some cauliflower, chard and spring onion seeds. I will plant some more tomatoes in the next few days but I am very limited for space. I thought Bear was going to plough through my strawberries when we were playing ball but somehow managed to miss them. A few more weeds removed.

Bear seems to be getting over his encounter the other night but not sure Mr LH is. Nothing heard from the police or dog warden which is disappointing. Hopefully we will hear something soon. Good news is that Bears DNA sample has been received by the company that does the testing. The bad news is it takes 2 -3 weeks for the results.

A small sale tonight which I will post tomorrow. Money transferred from one savings account to the current account ready for the 20th when it goes into a high interest account. I have to do it that way as I can only make one payment a month and I also save out of normal incomings so the two amounts have to be combined.  A couple of surveys done so we are almost at the payout amount. It has been hard work this month.

Weigh day tomorrow. Not sure I have done very well but we will see. I have decided on a treat for Easter.I will buy one hot cross bun for Good Friday and put it in the freezer until the day and have a very small Easter egg for the Sunday. I know I will eat it at once so if it is only a small one wont do too much damage I hope.

Meals. Breakfast - oats and fruit, lunch, salad, scrambled egg, b&b. dinner - roast beef. runner beans, sweet potato, peas and carrots. Snacks Yoghurt ( I forgot grapes for the second time.) :'(
  • Well done on the sale and the spinach!

Would it be worth writing to another department of the council about the horrible encounter? Maybe an anti social behaviour dept? I'm sorry Mr LH is still feeling shaken though it's not surprising. He must be feeling particularly vulnerable after his ear being bad for so long, I know I was

Your Easter treats sound very sensible and lovely. I'm pleased to say I haven't scoffed the choc I got for mum and Mr PIP (yet 😁)
