Well done on the weightloss, great result!
Hope the trip to BIL goes well today"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee2 -
Nothing saving about today as £36 on my train fare unless you count the fact I used my senior train pass for a third off. Fish and chips for dinner so no good for losing weight but enjoyable. No chocolate bought so that is good. At present sat on the train in the big city . Strangely all trains have been on time which hasn't happened for some time.
I am just dying to get home now as I woke at 4.15am and didn't dare go back to sleep in case I missed the alarm. It has been a very long day.
The DNA test for Bear arrived yesterday so I will do that in the morning.
I have brought more stuff back and the handle of my suitcase has jammed in the up position. It is metal so I think rust has got to it. WD40 when I get home will solve it I hope. in the meantime it is probably being a pain to other passengers but no option to leave it against the luggage rack rather than on it.
That's it for today. Have a good evening.3 -

Hope the WD40 did the trick!
How much stuff is left for you to take from BILs? Could Mr LH drive you there once so you can all fill up the car so on future visits you're not having to lug a full suitcase back?3 -
Evening all. Its been a grey day but waited until we took Bear for a walk to rain. I spent some time in the garden potting up my courgette plants. Whether they will survive the process I dont know but will find out soon. I have also thinned out the tomatoes. A couple of weeks ago I bought some cheap seed trays and some cell trays to go with them. I can find the cells but not the trays. Very odd as I would have thought I would put them together. A senior moment?I spent about an hour and a half listing some of the stuff I brought home this morning. It always take me much longer than I think it should. Some will go straight to the charity shop on Monday. They only take donations on certain days.I have sorted out the suitcase handle but it is still a bit sticky so I am wondering if it is slightly bent as a lot of the stuff I bring back is heavy and the case is quite old and has had a lot of use.The kitchen cleaned and that was enough for me today. No money spent, a couple of surveys done and I have done Bears DNA test which I will post in the morning. Cheap meal for Mr LH this evening as I brought home a couple of kidneys that my bil had got for me. I cant easily get them here. The sm dont sell them and the butchers havent had any for a while.Meals. Breakfast - usual oats and fruit, lunch sardines, b&b, salad, dinner beans and bacon on toast. Snacks yoghurt banana and grapes.2

Good evening all.Last night did not go to plan. MR LH took Bear out for his usual evening walk and when he got back he was shouting t me to call the police. One of our neighbours was out with his German Shepherd who rushed at poor Bear barking and growling and bit his back leg. Fortunately no damage but of course it is going to put Bear back in his training again. Who walks a dark coloured dog in the dark off lead. Mr LH was shaking when he got in. I rang the police who didnt want to know as no one was hurt and advised us to phone the dog warden. You can only leave a message for him so I am hoping they get back to us. When I have finished on here I am going to look for any safety equipment to stop people letting their dog approach Bear. I have no doubt many will ignore it but at least I will have tried. Apparently Bear gave a decent account for himself and the GSD backed off. THe owner however didnt. Having shouted abuse at MR LH he followed him down the path and then blocked the path to our house and wouldnt move until MR LH yelled for me to ring the police. I didnt hear him but at least it worked.Nothing else to report as its been a quiet day trying to gently reassure Bear. Furniture moving tomorrow ready for the new sofa and chair. We have to move the computer because the desk will need moving and a curtain taking down as well as moving coffee table etc. We do have help with the sofa but the rest is up to us. At least I will be able to clean behind the desk.Meals Braekfast and dinner the same as yesterday and lunch was salad, scrambled egg and B & B. Snacks Yoghurt.2

I would be inclined to put something in writing to the police about that dog & its owner. If it's aggressive it will eventually hurt a person & the police will deny all knowledge. Aggressive owners do tend to lead to aggressive dogs unfortunately.

Aggressive owners do tend to lead to aggressive dogs unfortunately.I have left a communication with our local policing team. My options with the police are limited as the non emergency line operator didnt want to know. I have to be honest that the dog does play nicely with a chocolate Lab who lives near them but at the same time I remember the owner telling me that he wasnt always good with dogs when he was younger. When he first got the dog I did advise hime that as first time dog owners they should go to puppy classes and then onto training. I dont think he did. He walks the dog on a long line but frequently lets it go and from watching him on the green outside has no idea how to get the best out of long line training. It is a shame because he is a nice dog (or was). It is people like him and the owner of the dog we had trouble with last time that will eventually cause all dogs to be on leads at all times or their breeds (GSD & Rottie) to be the next ones on the banned breeds list.1
