I forgot to say that Mr LH has decided he has a cold. I don't disbelieve him but I haven't seen any evidence of it

FreetodoasIlike  You are very welcome to keep posting. I am sure jwil wont mind me saying we all have our own ideas and opinions and that what makes the diaries interesting at least I hope she mind.

I completely agree.  The diaries are so useful.

I hope everything's ok with BIL.   Glad Mr LH hasn't got a cold.

You are doing great with the healthy eating, hope you see a result!

Thank you @jwil I really didn’t mean to cause offence to you or to anyone. I am overweight myself and I know overweight people are not lazy and that there are many reasons why people gain weight. My comment (so ineptly made) was that I watch some of these TV programmes to stop me gaining more.  I don’t gloat, and I do genuinely feel sorry for the morbidly obese people who appear on these shows, often from poor areas in the USA, and that this is their last chance of some hope. I love to see them get bariatric surgery (which they wouldn’t be able to afford normally) and thrive as a result. It can be uplifting to see follow-up programmes of their progress. Some do so well, some don’t. You may be a ‘larger” lady but are you 30/40 stone. I’m guessing no, but as I don’t know you - maybe you are. I very much doubt it, if you are able to walk, take your children to school, work full-time and do everything else you need to do. My point was (again SO badly made) was that some people are bed bound/house bound and have to rely on social security to live. It’s an existence and not a life I would wish to live. Anyway, in future I will keep my opinions to myself!I

I hope your pre-cataract op went well @ladyholly and you get everything sorted soon. My comment about PCO was just that in a few cases the lens clouds over, and you are told this after the op. In your case, it probably won’t, but I was one of the few that it did. The point I was trying to make is that it’s fairlly common and the result is rectified by laser in a matter of minutes. I had mine done and the result was amazing.

Hope Mr LG’s cold get’s better.
Thanks FreetodoasIlike.  I'm a lot closer to 30 than I'd like to be!  I've seen stories about people who weigh less than me who have real mobility issues, so it shows it's a very individual issue. I do like to see some of the programmes where people lose large amounts of weight and really change their lives.

Don't worry, I've put my foot in my mouth by saying things that make me cringe subsequently more times than I can count!

These days I am slightly sceptical of programmes that show "real life" although I do watch and enjoy some of them. Why? We appeared on a well known programme about dogs twice with one of our dogs that is no longer with us, The production company was here on both occasions for half a day filming. The amount shown was approx 2minutes and on the second occasion the story showed stuff that although it happened was shown out of context and some stuff was misinterpreted by viewers. Quite understandably the way it was edited. I am not complaining just pointing out that what you see has been severely cut to show the story the production company wants. I cannot go into more detail on a public forum although the programme was shown some time ago.

I agree about the tv programmes, they are highly edited to demonstrate an agenda.  Same about news in the press as well.  I've seen several where I know the detail, and they rarely tell the whole story.
