What a horrible experience for you ladyholly, hopefully the damage to homes and businesses won't be as bad with this storm. I'm hoping we don't lose the flimsy conservatory we inherited when we bought this house 8 years ago.
Since I was a child and watched Dorothy and her dog Toto being blown away by the twister in The Wizard of Oz I've been very nervous about strong winds!
Take care x

I too remember that wind in 1990. The wood on the hill opposite just disappeared flattened.

I think we must have missed much of the storm Isha. It was very windy and raining but I have seen far worse here. I think i have said before that we have our own micro climate which means we often miss the worst weather. On the other hand we do sometimes get weather that no one else gets. I hope everyone is safe and doesnt have any damage. Having looked at the news I know some places have been very badly hit.Nothing much to report except out to post a parcel this morning and because I need to go to the bank it will be a different PO. I will also be able to have a sneaky look at the charity shops in our local high street.I hope your day is good without too many hassles.4

Shopping done today and quite pleased with the bill. Bears dry food was £8 instead of £11 so I will get another bag next week if its still the same price. Each bag lasts about a month so hopefully it might be on offer again by the time we need more. I have changed the way I shop and am using a butcher more as I am finding sm meat is not that good these days. It just means I have to go into town which due to the stupid route the bus now takes is about half an hour each way to go about 3 miles.Got to the bank yesterday as they wanted me to prove who I am to change my phone number. I broke my old phone by dropping it and could get nothing on it. On the way I fell and a very nice chap came to check I was ok. I was then but the muscles in my upper arms ache badly today. You do feel silly when you fall in public though I should be used to it by now. Luckily there was scaffolding where I fell so I had something to hang on to when I got up. I had avery restful morning as I couldnt bear moving my arms too much. They did get a bit of a workout this afternoon with the sm trolley. Tomorrow I must do something other than post a parcel and get a couple of things that Mr T didnt have including the red label tea I buy!!!Enough wittering for now. Have a peaceful night.3

Sorry to hear about your fall. It’s so embarrassing when you fall in public. A few years ago I tripped up the stairs in M&S with several shopping bags in both hands, I’d been Christmas shopping. I literally fell flat on my face 🙁 I was helped up and was none the worse for wear just very bruised pride.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)3

I tend to wobble all over the place, I'm sure people must think I am drunk sometimes. I tend to use a stick if I am not going to use a trolley. I no longer use a handbag to go shopping as that just seems to totally unbalance me.

I do use a stick sometimes but as I usually use 2 shopping bags to even things out it isnt always practical although I should use it more. I alwys stop people from helping me up as I am rather large and would hate to injure someone helping. It is also better to get myself up even if I have to crawl to something to hang onto while I rise from the floor so Ican tell if I have hurt myself. Fortunately there is enough padding to avoid that so far.

So sorry to hear about your fall, ladyholly. It's so easy to take a tumble, I've done it several times with varying degrees of injury! Glad that you haven't broken anything and managed to get home safely xx1

Thank you all for your sympathy. I am told I am pretty graceful when I fall. Its just as well as I am certainly not graceful the rest of the time.Posted my parcel this morning and bought the missing tea from Mr S. A bit of housework on my return but not much as I was feeling somewhat dizzy on my return home. I have recently started to get the occasional dizzy spell but am worried that if I consult the GP they will think it is because I was asked about dizziness when I had the ecg and was told I have very slow heart rate (50bpm). I have bought some oats and am going to try having either porridge or overnight oats to see if that helps. I usually have cornflakes and have done for years. I am in general trying to improve my diet and lose some weight but I find it very hard especially as Mr LH eats a poor diet no matter how hard I try with him. The difference is I have a sweet tooth and he doesnt eat anything like cake, biscuits sweets etc. Good grief it sounds a if I am falling apart with falls and dizziness not to mention weird vision, painful joint and muscles. I am ok honest.
I had a bit of a shock this morning when out with Bear. We reached a corner and as we turned a Collie appeared almost at the same point. Bear pulled so we crossed the road and I then realised it was someone I see regularly with his 2 Colliies. He said for me to go on ahead but I wanted to test Bear a bit so said no he could go first. We stood and chatted for a minute or two only about 5 yards from his dogs and Bear was pretty good unless they came right up to him. A good training time for him as he is very worried by any dog that is the same size or bigger except our friends Lab who doesnt worry him at all but I think thats because he loves our friend.I have done a bit of a money shuffle with the bank and cashed out £15 on surveys. Surveys have been very slow this month and I have been screened out of loads. Not sure what tomorrow will bring as I will see how I am.3
