I’ve had my containers well over 10 years. I got the small flattish ones, the medium ones and the taller ones. The lids fit all of them.

What is this forgotten cava phenomenon you speak of 🤣🤣

Steaming the kitchen tiles worked to some extent but I think I will need to have several goes at them to get them really clean ( I have a very low boredom threshhold for cleaning so better to do things a bit at a time). Floor given a really good clean so thats the kitchen done. I will start on the hall, stairs and landing in a day or two  I must catch up with the general cleaning first. Washing folded/ hung up and put away.
No shopping done today as I really didnt want Mr LH sitting in the car in the cold while I shopped so my plan is to go tomorrow morning when I have to post an ebay sale anyway. We dont need much but a lot of it is heavy stuff so it might involve a taxi home. I will see how heavy it is and whether II can stagger from the sm to the bus stop and then the bus stop home.

I found out last night that my dgd has had an offer accepted on a house. It looks really nice from the details she has sent me. I think I will be making trip there when they move in which will no doubt be several weeks if not months. If I go by train it will take over 2 hours but if we go by car it will be just over an hour and a quarter but then we have the problem of what to do with Bear. They have cats so taking him isnt practical. I will have to have a think.

I have done some money shuffling and am pleased to say that the pot for MrLHs festival exes is now just over £100 with about 3months before he goes away for the first time. That should almost cover the first one and he only has 2 booked for this year so we should have plenty of money so I am not left short in our food budget. Other than that no money spent today.

I am now being nagged by Bear to go for his evening walk so I had better finish so I can get ready. It takes a while to get dressed in this weather and we havent got the worst of the cold by any means. Keep warm everyone.

Am I too late to help with the forgotten Cava?  I'd forgotten our Christmas quality street tin.  It was only forgotten because it was in a queue behind the celebrations and a fancy box of Lindt chocs.  I'm still a bit shocked to find that all the wrappers have changed.  I assume more environmentally friendly but I feel like there should have been a warning on the tin 🤦‍♀️

You can pop down and do my deep cleaning if you like, I've got no mojo for it.  Well done on doing yours!

Many thanks to all those who have offered to help with our Cava. Sadly I must decline the offers as we will need it for occasions during February.

jwil Many thanks for your kind offer of doing your cleaning unfortunately I have enough trouble doing mine so not a chance. :D:smiley:

beanielou Thank you for permission to use a taxi which I gratefully accepted. My arms were very thankful.

Parcel posted, shopping done and lounge dusted and that was about that. I have made a stew for dinner which went in the slow cooker and was very nice. One portion left so put in the freezer for another day. I used one of my nice new cotainers as reccommended by SA which arrived today.

The weather has been raw today with no sun. The heating was firing at 16 which is too cold for Mr LH but ok for me so I didnt put it up to 19 until he was ready to get up. I must say I am not looking forward to the bill this month and may well have to transfer some money from the government money I manged to save last year while we were still on a fixed rate.  A friend called for a coffee today which was nice. I have offered to take Bear out this evening so Mr LH can stay in the warm. He will start coming as well when it is warmer or should that be less cold. The strange thing is that the pond hasnt frozen although there is ice on other peoples.

I am at the eye hospital tomorrow for my 6monthly check up for myasthenia which is behaving reasonably well at the moment. Just as well as I believe there is a shortage of my medication. Fortunately I have a reasonable stock at the moment.  I might get a start on the next lot of cleaning tomorrow. It will be 3 hours of travelling for 10 minutes with the neurologist but I do have a brief eye test and the colour blindness test first.

Thats it for now. Have a cosy evening and be careful if you have ice.
