Always best to compare quotes with pet insurance. I thought the senior category started at 7 🤔 How very sad about your friend’s dog, I wonder if it was blue algae?

I did wonder about blue algae but that tends to bloom in warm dry weather but we will never know. I do know I wouldn't let a dog in that water as it is still water and probably contains all sorts although there are fish in it.

Ouch to the insurance!  Hope you find a better quote.

Glad the visit to BIL went without too much hassle.

I wrote a post yesterday but lost it and was too tired to repeat it so here goes for today.
Shopping done yesterday and found some hand towel in the sm for £2 each. These are definitely a need as the ones I have are so stained they are disgusting looking although clean. I use them as oven gloves hence the stains so will keep them for that instead of using the hand towel. I did also treat myself to 2 barettes for my hair as my existing one had broken. I had tried sticking it but it broke again. I will try again now I can leave it for a good while to dry properly. Shopping this week is about £2 over budget so not too displeased with that especially as last weeks food shop was quite economical thanks to the vouchers I had.

I spent 2 hours cleaning kitchen cupboards this morning- only 4 so I think that shows how bad they were. I hope to continue tomorrow if I have the energy after collecting my prescription. Was shattered and in pain after that so the only other job was hoovering upstairs while MrLH was out taking the car to the garage. He did need two taxis to take and collect the car so that can come from the car account. There is a bus but it takes ages and goes all round the houses and then he would have a walk at both ends. The welding on the car is done and the bill inluding MOT came to £151 which I thought was reasonable. That will also come from the car account. Mr LH is much happier now.

I had to take bear out on my own as Mr LH needed to stay in in case the garage rang - they didnt. He was pretty good but after the cleaning and ladder climing this morning was hard work. He was very good with the other dogs we saw but one particularly worried him although it was nowhere near us.

Off now to shuffle some money around.

@ladyholly - I just don't know how kitchen cupboards get so grubby. It's not that long since I gave ours a deep clean, but they are already resuming a distinct air of grub about them. As for the fridge.....I am trying to get the milk out with my eyes shut, it sooooo needs a thorough scrub. Maybe next week.
I think that your car bill (while still unwelcome) actually could have been a lot worse.

I must admit I haven't cleaned the cupboards since the summer and as the kitchen is small most of the cupboards are near the cooker.
I was quite surprised at the bill . The Mot was £49 so the welding and VAT was £100. We have used the garage fo a long while now and he has always been fair.

Glad the car bill wasn't too bad.

The car bill wasn't too bad and definitely cheaper than the cost of wrong fuel in the courtesy car.

@ladyholly Glad to hear the car is back home with you and the bill was reasonable, we'd be lost without our own transport  :/
Oh, don't talk about kitchen cupboards - I'm so ashamed of mine I won't let friends into my house, which is really daft.  The doors of the units are dreadful and I've been talking the talk but not walking the walk! I need to restart my daily list of chores and put the cupboards at the top of it as I get such pleasure ticking jobs off it!  At the moment next week looks quiet for me so no excuses .... Eek! x

I wouldnt worry about fiends seeing your home. If they are true friends they wont care (even if they notice) and if they do care they arent true friends. The only things I worry about is the state of the hall both wall and holey carpet and the sofa which is falling to pieces  but our friends still visit so yjey obviously dont care.
