The temperature is in double figures next week. I don't like it cold so my heating is set a lot higher than yours although as high as it was last year as fortunately since the hip replacement I can move a lot more so don't feel the cold quite as much.

I can't believe you're not coming to do my cleaning. I thought you were my friend
Hope the eye test goes well.
I'm also dreading the heating bill this month, I live in hope that my new boiler is miraculously more efficient than the old oneWe're back to mild and storms from the weekend by the looks of it!

A very mixed day today. The hospital went well as they have put me on the fast track list to have the cataract done on my eye (the optician said it wasnt ready only a few months ago) and to continue with meds as before. The less good was when I reached my town. I got off the bus and popped in the sm to get a joint of meat for Sunday. When I got back to the bus stops it said 15 minutes to wait so I checked on the app to find out where it was and that showed it would be 20 so i decided to walk, The cold was affecting my breathing so decided to wait for the bus after all. It never arrived but while I was trying to see what was happening I dropped my phone. Now it doesnt work properly. It is an old one and the touch sreen was beginning to cause problems and the battery was not brilliant (unreplaceable) so tomorrow I will be going into town town get a new phone. Very annoyed with myself for dropping it but it is something I have problems with. Surprisingly Mr LH took it very well and just said s*** happens. Fortunately I had told him I was dropping things. No cleaning done and other than the meat which I forgot yesterday no money spent. No thats wrong I have ordered a new maximum/ minimum thermometer. I put ours outside just to see what the temp was and it was reading +10 - it wasnt. To be fair it was my mums who died about 20 years ago and I think it was the one I bought her for a present when I was a teenager. It thats so it makes it over 50 years old.I have had another small sale tonight so that will be posted in the morning when I go to town. I shouldnt have boasted the pond hadnt frozen yesterday as it did last night and so did I when I walked Bear last night and this morning. Now it is almost time to freeze again. Wish me luck.

Sorry to hear about the phone, these things are always more likely when it's so cold too.
Hope your walk wasn't too bad."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee2 -
The walk was very cold but it is only a fairly short one so the discomfort didnt last too long. I am actually more concerned about the next day or two a we are on the edge of the amber warning for wind and rain.A new phone is now in my hands and am getting to grips with it. Mr LH insisted I got insurance for this one. Some listing has been done and I have a bid on one item and another is paid for so will need to go to the PO on Monday. Hall cleaning has commenced but I havent got very far yet.I had a appointment sent yesterday for the pre op for my cataract op on the 2nd Feb. Hopefully I will get the appointment date then. Thats what happened last time.I think thats it for now. No money news except I havent spent anything today. Hooray.4

Stay safe all.I hate the wind too. During the 1990 storm we had a shop and lost half our shop front. It was terrifying to watch a huge window just drop from one corner to the other taking out part of the frame. Stock disappearing up the street and the second window flexing as the gusts of wind hit it. I was certain the other one would go as well but it didnt. Trying to find the glaziers phone number to come and board the window was very hard as I ws shaking so much. It took Mr LH about an hour and a half to get from the next town up the coast which usually took him about 15minutes. I will never forget that day and have been frightened by high winds ever since. The usual walk where we take Bear has very very tall conifers (they desperately need some work doing on them but I think the council are waiting for them to fall down as several did a few years ago) along the road which we avoid when it is windy and go a different way.
I think your side of the channel is more in the firing line than we are so I hope you keep safe and dont getting any damage.
