We might be making some progress in the saga of upgrading our broadband. It was cancelled because of our phone line which has weird wiring. We didnt fit it but suspect it was the diy enthusiast who was not the best to put it mildly. Anyway they are going to see if they can get an engineer to look at the phone line. It may need to be completely re- run which will no doubt have a cost but we will just have to suck it up. We need the upgrade for when the copper wire phone systen is switched off at the end of 2025.

I have spent a stupid amount of money in the sm today without buying anything special. The statistics say prices are fallin but I havent noticed that, Everything seems to cost more and more. I have not been using the discount supermarkets as it is an extra walk but I think I am going to have to split the shopping into 3 so I can get the best value. At least I dont have to pay for the bus.

I have had a notification from delay repay and they are refunding half my train fare from the horrible trip last week.

Nothing else of note in the last couple of days. We are now in a waiting game re the phone line.

The new router arrived by 9am this morning. I was asyounded at the speed as I only spoke to the internet provider mid afternoon yesterday. I also received the greetings cards from whistlefish that I had ordered after reading about them in another diary. Very pleased with them and should have enough for the whole of next year.

Mr LH is still trying to touch up the paint on the car but he wasted so much time when we had the good weather by ignoring doing it. He is now moaning that it keeps raining!

I have put some salt down in the garden where the weeds are starting to appear on the paving. I an hoping if I keep on top of it during the winter they shouldnt be as bad next summer.

The train fare refund hit the bank account but was more than eaten up with Bears calming tablets. We did stop them for a while but with fireworks on the horizon decided to restart them and he does seem a bit more chilled.  I need to start the menu and shopping list for next week and also think what we are going to need for Christmas. It wont be much as we dont entertain other friends calling in for mince pies in the run. i also need to get to Lidl to see if their gluwein is in yet. We do go through quite a lot of it as it is our December treat when we return from the dogs night time walk although Mr LH does most of them now. It used to be two walks when we had the others as the little one didnt want to go far in her latter days.

Home made steak and kidny pie for dinner with veg and chips for him, baked potato for me. This was already made and was in the freezer so simple meal to throw together. Now off to read my book as Mr LH is sleeping through an old episode of Top Gear.

You might’ve read about the Whistlefish cards on my diary 😆 They are fab though and very reasonably priced for the quality.

Lidl certainly had the gluwein when I was in there last week, along with stollen and other treats!

Thank you. I must take a walk there Or better still get Mr LH to stop off on the way back from Bears field on Monday as we pass our local branch. Then I can get a decent quantity.

Its been an odd day starting off with Bear not eating his breakfast but eating a lot of grass on his walk. Conclusion he has eaten something he shouldnt have. He has been very quiet and refused everything he was offered this evening until I opened some sardines which he ate with lots of lip licking afterwards and even had a couple of bits of his usual wet food. He was sick this morning but only a very small amount. Mr LH is panicking about him as he always does if any of our dogs are poorly. I will see if he will eat in the morning if not I will get him some more sardines. It seems an odd thing to give a poorly dog but it is the only thing he qwould eat. Mr LH thinks he has lost weight in the last 24hours. :)

Later this morning I was sitting with a cup of tea and my book when I got a phone call from a friend who lives in Aberdeen to say she was round the corner from me in a local hotel. It turns out her son is in hospital with serious injuries having been hit by a truck. He apparently walked out in front of it and mentally is in a very bad way. I dashed straight over to see her at the hotel before she went off to see him. She is going to have to return home in the next day or two and will stay near the hospital so I wont get to see her again until she come down in the new year which she was planning to do anyway. I will keep in touch by phone though.

Mr LH is also not in the best  place today. We doget odd periods when things are not good for him but luckily they dont last long these days.

Thats my day today so roll on tomorrow.
