I've had the flu jab and can book covid at a pharmacy on the way to my dad's.  The district nurse rang me to book dad's booster next week - he is housebound so it is always good to know he is on their list.

I wish they would do that with me.  Most people just seem to repeat it exactly the same & wonder why I still can't tell what they say.  My own sister who has know for 70 years does exactly the same to me.  It is like the ones who talk to you whilst walking away.  Although I must admit that I had no idea how much lipreading I did until covid & mask wearing.

I do ask people to speak clearly and slowly but they usuall forget half way through the conversation. Anyway hopefully I can sort out their website.

Cold when I took Bear out this morning. There wasnt a frost but it looked very close if that makes sense. The house hasnt cooled down yet so I am still in short sleeves but I dont think it will be long and I did wear the winter coat this morning. I have also kept the back door largely closed. It is much easier to do that with Bear as the other 3 were all elderly so needed constant access and Miss W never learned to ask. No heating on yet except yesterdays test. Even Mr LH isnt moaning yet.

A little bit more done in the garden this morning. It was cold in the shade but quite pleasant in the sun. I doubt their will be anything done tomorrow with flu jab at 9.30am. I will also need to buy milk and bananas (mainly for Bear). Then by the time I get home it will be time to get Mr LH moving and out to Bears field. By the time we get back I am shattered. Its very hard work watching a dog run about.

Roast pork dinner cooked and cleared away. Yesterdays washing put away except some towels which arent quite dry..
Must finish here as a friend is due.

Our heating has kicked in a couple of times so it's definitely chillier now!

Hope you had a nice time with your friend.

We got to the field for Bear eventually about 15 minutes late. We only have 50 minutes so he had a short run. The council was tree cutting along the side of the road so a 10 minute journey took 25.

Picked up my prescription after two visits to the pharmacy as it hadnt been done on the first. I ordered 10 days ago. Had my flu jab and have booked covid at the GP on Friday. Went to a certain pricey sm not the one beginning with W and gave up. All I had was 2pints of milk and 4 bananas so was going to pay cash. They had 2 cash self service tills, all the rest were card only wih long queues at the manned tills so dumped my shopping as both the cash tills were being used by people who were fiddling about with who knows what. Called into Mr S on the way home from the field.

Mr LH was asking to turn the heating on but I dont think he did in the end and when I put the rubbish out it seemed a bit less cold. I have actually put a fleece on for the first time. Nothing done in the garden today as I expected but hoping I might get out tomorrow.

I have been very naughty and ordered some plants, including a dwarf cherry and the dwarf buddleia I mention a few days ago.  The next job is find pots for them.  I will need some more compost as well which I can get tomorrow when we go shopping. Last week I bought some shoes from the big market place but they havent arrived so a bit disappointed. I have told the seller so will see what they say.

Weeding the gravel, pots, and paved areas is done (for now). Hooray. There is still the rockery to do but I dont think that will be done for a few daysdue to the weather as rain is forecast until Sunday. The shoes I bought off ebay a week ago have arrived. They look fine but I havent tried them on yet.

Shopping done this pm and I gor 2 bags of compost for £3.75 each which I thought was a decent price. Still havent heard from our internet supplier re the non attendance of the engineers last week despite assurance that they would reply with 5 working days. Another email sent and if needed we will take it further. We have been with that company for many years and am not impressed with their customer service.

I have managed to sort out the account for the theatre but cant see how I am supposed to find the accessible seats etc so I think I will have to phone them. Their website is awful.

Off to my BiL tomorrow so a long day and I am not looking forward to the travelling. An early night tonight I think.
