thwe highlight of the day was a fifh and chip supper when I got home. I arrived at my BiL an hour and a half late as there were signalling problems and the train nearly ended up in th e wrong place, then they took ages whether to cancel the trasin from Salisbry or not, The train behind was then delayed because GWR couldnt decide whta they were doing. This all meant I missed connectiions and actua;ll got on the platform as one of them stated off. Coming home the first train was late due to signalling problems which would have meant missing the first connection but that was late due to forecast bad weather which I thought was a strange way of putting it. The 2nd connection was also late so all in all home on the normal train but about ten minutes late. I only had a couple of hours at my BiL due to the train woes so I will have to go down a bit earlier in the month in NovemeberWhen I left home at 7am it was quite warm so I only took a mac. A decision I regretted as this afternoon it was pretty chilly on the platforms so was cold when I got home. There was minimal heaing on the trains and I was tired which didnt help. Thankfully Mr LH thought to put the heating on before he left to pick me up so the house was warm when we got in.
It has rained heavily all afternoon and we are threatened with thunder tomorrow which hopefully will not materialise.Hen I took Bear out at 5.30am he suddenly started to imitate a tractor puling backwards. I turned around and there was a fox. Not unusual around here but this one decided to follow us with Bear going mad trying to get to it and me pulling him to get away from it. Not a restful walk. I have never known one to follow us they normally run away when they see us us.Going to sit down now and watch The repair shop followed by celebrity race across the world which will please Mr LH - not. Shame.2 -

That sounds like the train journey from hell 🙁 Hope you’re having a relaxing evening.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)2

I have done very little today due to not feeling too hot. I think it is a reaction from the travelling so not worried. I did check the garden for weeds and blow me I found some grass that was about 4inches long. I am certain it wasnt there on Tuesday and it isnt there now. The stuff I brought back fro BiL is sorted and ready to list in the next day or two.The weather has been sunshine and showers today with the showers being quite heavy at times but goodness me it is warm. We did have a phone call from the internet provider who said they couldnt get in touch with us so cancelled the appointment. Really confused now as we had a long converastion on the phone about a week before. I told them to rebook it but their system wouldnt let him do it so in theory he is ringing back tomorrow. This is turning into a saga. The thing is it needs to be upgraded or we will be without internet when copper wire telephone goes so the sooner its domne the better so any problems can be sorted in good time before the change from copper wire messes things up.Nothing else now. Covid jab in the morning at 8.40. It a 20minute walk and it probably going to be a wet one but the pharmacy now have the item that was missing from my last prescription so I can collect at the same time as its next door to the GP. I think a taxi home is likely.2

Hope you feel better today and the covid jab goes ok.
The internet saga is very frustrating and hope it gets sorted soon."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee0 -
Just read properly through the comments above, your journey sounds hellish - I find if my day is put out to that extent it often takes a couple of days to recover. Look after yourself.1

I have just completed the delay repay form for Wednesdays journey so hopefully that will go through ok. It was a horrible journey made worse by only being able to have a short time with my BiL. I know he was disappointed. I could have caught a later train home but as all the trains were running late I would have been very late home and its already a long day for me. It doesnt really affect me the day of the journey but hits me the next day or two.Covid jab this morning went as planned, collected the remains of my prescription and got a taxi to the Mr S and the PO which are too far away from the GP for me to walk. I had to post a parcel from an ebay sale. At the GP I have managed to book an appointment to see the doctor in a couple of weeks. This will be the first face to face appointment since before covid. My buddleia and dwarf cherry both arrived today so was out in the garden planting them in in drizzle. We have been very lucky with the weather as the storm largely passed east and north of us. It is still quite mild here and have only have the heating on one night.Mr LH had kidneys for dinner which makes a nice economical meal for him as my BiL always get some for him as I have difficulty here. I had tuna pasta which again is fairly economical as I got some cheaper mushrooms.I bought some edam cheese this morning for Mr LH to use as very high value treats on his lunchtime walks to try to encourage him to walk to heel. He did well today but there were no distractions. I think it is going to prove quite costly as I caught Mr LH helping himself to some this afternoon. Bear is not the only one who like edam.3

As expected no phone call from the internet provider. On better news I have had no side effects from the covid jab, not even an aching arm. I have made a start on weeding the rockery but it is going to be a hard job as I have to walk on the wall edge of the pond to reach the worst bit and as someone who has awful balance I could end up in the pond or cracking my head on the wall or the fence next to it.I have also done a fair bit of cleaning including giving the bathroom a good clean. Mainly using vinegar. A load of washing done and is hanging in the bedroom to dry. It will probably take a couple of days to dry.On the economy side I have started to turn the chip pan off a bit sooner to let the hot fat finish the chip. (Mr LH eats a lot of chips). I have cashed out another £5 on surveys. I have avoided doing any vacuuming so no electric used
. Meter reading sent so that will come back in a day or too. I will do another one on Friday as that is when our current fixed rate ends. I must write myself a note to remind me. I have really missed having a calendar this year. I just never got around to buying one which has been a big mistake. i have already got one for next year.

Good news you had no reaction to the Covid booster, it floors me every time whatever the brand of vaccine. I love a proper calendar you can write on and see everything at a glance.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)2
