We had a huge pond, a hot tub plus a person who thinks showers last 30 mins ! And it was still cheaper in a meter than the rates.  You used to be able to have a meter and if it was more expensive you could reverse it within 12 months

Just to confirm what Dawnybabes says, if you aren't happy with the meter you can go back to rateable value within 12 months

Tbh it really depends on the rateable value, mines so low it's simply not worth bothering with a meter

Many thanks for that. I have just looked at the water company website and they give us 2 years to change our minds if it doesnt save money. I think I might have persueded Mr LH.

Onto today. Ironing done :), yesterdays washing put away, then pruned the large lander bush we have but Ihave read that I should have taken more off than I did so will have togo back to it. I am also using a vinegar, salt, washing up liquid mix on the patio, pathe etc. It is gradually killing them but either we have very tough weeds or more keep growing as it is takin a long time to clear them. However progress is being made.

Cullen skinks and french bread for dinner which is quick to make and causes little washing up so I am happy

Mr LH very angry at Bear last night when they went out as he went completely ballistic at another dog and literally had to be dragged home. Fortunately not far. He has been better today but I know Mr LH is worried that in some ways he just isnt learning what we want from him. He was having calming tablets but we have stopped them so I am starting them again to see if they help.

Must finish Mr LH is going out.

A very non active couple of days due to not being too good hopefully tomorrow will be better as they are come to upgrade the broadband. I just hope everything works when they have finished fiddling with it. I have got the right day this time. I took some of the decluttered stuff to the cs this morning but havent got any further with it. No field for Bear today as I couldnt get the booking and we had to cancel tomorrow due to the internet stuff so Wednesday is the new Monday and shopping done today instead of tomorrow.

When I got back from the CS I found MR LH up , dressed and with a cup of tea. so no peace this morning. Bear had woken him up and had also got his fluffy toy on a lead that he only has in the field and destroyed it. Thtats £20 down the drain. Very annoying I had put it right at the back of my dressing table thinking he wouldnt be able to reach it. He could !!

Nothing else for tonight just keeping my fingers crossed things go well tomorrow.

@ladyholly so sorry Bear and Mr LH are being a bit difficult, hope the calming meds will help Bear. Clever dogs can be very destructive and it sounds like Bear is a smart boy xx

Yes Bear is a very clever dog when he wnts to be. he leartned a touch me command in under half an hour and we are now using that to get him to touch other things as a stage in getting him to pick up things.and hopefully put his toys away. When he is out he is so alert to  possible dangers he finds it hard to concentrate on what we want him to do.

Today did not happen as they never arrived. Not happy having specially got up early, got Mr LH up vgery early and moved furniture. No contact from the company and no sense when I rang them. I have written a letter of complaint and emailed the CEO. I wouldnt have minded but this was their idea not ours and they set the appointment. This meant a wasted day as I couldnt do anything in case they just appeared through the back gate (I did put a note on it but....). I couldnt risk Bear making a bid for freedom or scaring them to death.
    Therefore nothing to report.
