Enjoy chess. I do love it but it's not a typical singing and dancing musical.4

Chess was great we both really enjoyed it. It was performed by our local operatic society and was very well done. I have booked for their production of Oklahoma next April. Only expense was the taxis each way. Dd and I discussed going to see Hamilton next year but when I looked it was very expensive so I shal have to ring her and see what she says as she is already going to London to see Les Miserables.Jobs yesterday was cleaning behind the furniture in the conservatory and then mowing the lawn That was enough for me. I have received several coupons from the big pharmacy company so I will have to see if threy are any use. Another £5 cashed out on surveys. We had a thought today with regard to Bears walks and spent a while throwing a ball in the garden for him before his walk, it worked and he behaved much better. We mainly tried it because he seemed to be especially lively today. I am not sure it would work if we did it every day but a couple of times a week might help.

Dd and I were talking about wishing there was some Gilbert and Sullivan on at the theatre and then I found there is a B 7 S society in the next town to us but when I checked the buses it is a no go as the last one is early evening. I will keep an eye open. Of course the best place is Buxton but thats not a lot of help when you live in the west country.Although we are 25 miles from our nearest city we are very cut off in many ways as so much misses the west aand south west. The HS2 discussion recently has amused me as no one has suggested upgraded railway here and even electrification has been cancelled past Bristol so hard luck Somerset, Devon and Cornwall.I think the rest will be all Bear as I havent done anythink outstanding today. We didnt play ball before going out today and he was nowhere near a well behaved as yesterday although he met two of his friends and was good with them. While we were out we passed a friends house and called to see her as she has been away on holiday. It was the first time her partner had met Bear so we were slightly concerned knowing his dislke of some men but with a bit of bribery/ rewards he was fine. They also have a large black Lab who has cancer. When he has been here Bear has been very worried by him but today they did well together on the whole except for a bit of posturing seeing who was in charge. . Bear did not want to leave and tried to pull mr LH back to the house. This morning he came to the bedroom before I got up and got on the bed for a cuddle and later in the morning did the same with mr LH. He did the same yesterday so perhaps hwe are getting somewhere with him.

A neighbour sings with a Gilbert & Sullivan society. She could well be part of the Buxton one as it’s not that far from us. I’m with you in living somewhere that’s overlooked by a lot of things it’s really annoying ☹️I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)1

You have reminded me that I used to go to the Free Trade Hall when the D'oyle Carte were there doing Gilbert & Sullivan. It was my aunt got me started & I used to go several days of the 2 weeks. I had forgotten all about it, but then it was over 50 yrs ago so no big surprise.
