NSD 1 for me todayTreat #1 day out, but nothing spent, as we went to see DD1 and her lovely new houseTook dog with us, as he seems ok after his vet visit - not as he usually is, but ok. I kept him either on his lead or in his crate in the car, as he is supposed to be resting and I knew he would get very excited to see DD1's dog and race about if he had the chance.Grateful that DD1 has a lovely house at last after 16 years of living in less than ideal accommodation, and that the dog's condition has improved.11

A frosty morning with icy cold wind. Was able to go out in the playground at morning break, so did some laps of the school. Had a wonderful time at our beach trip this afternoon. We walked up the path from school, & as the tide was out, we were able to walk along the causeway to the little island. It's now apparently owned by a rich man with race horse connections, who's having the house renovated to be air b&b. Hope the tenants can steer a boat! None of us had been to the island before, so a great experience. Then we crossed back & made beach art, before returning back to school. Posted all my sales, using my free stamps, deposited money into account, then bought the weekly paper (my turn) on the way home. Extremely tired after all the fresh air, so had a nap for 10 mins. Shortened some jeans for a customer, then did the ironing.
Grateful for fun at the beach, visiting the island, happy customersUse it up, wear it out
Make do or do without!
If you see someone without a smile, give them one of yours 😃

Hello Turtles
1st March up date
Was still quite ill but had to go to work, however did have a good day in the end and was pleased I coped. Exhausted beyond belief, had shopping delivery, hay delivery and had to make pancakes, they were great!
Grateful for Mum managing better than normal. The rabbits not having killed each other and the pancakes.
No spend day 1/16
2nd March
Today was pretty tough, I can't avoid the news. work is crap -many unhappy people. It was frustrating before and if covid hadn't happened I would have left, or had a breakdown. But now, under new management things are realigning and people are so unhappy and frightened.
However came home to an easy dinner, nice chocolate, cleaned out the piggies who are just the best and watched the rabbits for a while, they are getting on better I think (hope!)
Grateful for my furry pets, the dogs are so good, decluttering my desk at work. Charmed
bought petrol today. Cost an eyewatering amount!
oo I am doing the bag a day for 40 days for Lent.
XXXXXXXNevertheless she persisted.15 -
Hi all,
here’s my update.
Work - caught up so when I’m in the office today, I’m just going to do a lot of filing and anything other than that is a bonus.
Family - having a few niggles with interfering in-laws who think they mean well. Not reacting until I’ve calmed down a bit!
Admin - DS passport completed and paid for and verified so just need to post the old one now, will aim to do this today.
Physical Health - Didn’t walk yesterday but kept within my calories.
NSD - 0/16 paid for passport, will not be one today either as need to pay postage.
grateful for:
working from home yesterday

Bit of a lazy day yesterday - did bits of tidying in between watching a series for the second time (I challenged myself to watch a whole episode without doing any work - apart from picking things up and putting them where they needed to be if it was on my way).
Went to my house about 7 pm, thinking they would be up by then. Nope (they did appear and both managed to startle me - was concentrating on what I was doing and where I was putting my feet and they had snook in when I was in a different room). Put lots of things in my room (had taken 3 heavy (I could carry them) bags with a mixture of books and tins (did one bag and then the smaller lighter bag but split the rest up).
DS3 is bemused by me putting tins of food in my room but if I'm having my long overdue kitchen update everything will have to be moved out of there and I don't see the point of putting things away in there and then have to move them again - will do the same with the pans and the few plates and bits of kitchen equipment I'm moving from mum's. They are managing with what they already have, will reserve good pans etc until they learn to look after thing properly. The under stairs shelves have enough supplies to be going on with (unpacked food that was already in there onto the larder shelves - DS3 kept putting things I'd taken home into the kitchen but not away and their shopping is mostly in the front room, blocking the doorways.
Will need to go back there at some point today but have decided I will just ignore uncooperative people (DS3 doesn't want me to take anything from the bungalow back home because he doesn't want to take anything upstairs grr). Rise above, rise above.
So following the old superwoman adage of not expecting any help from your family (guerrilla tactics and passive resistance - will put things I can move into their room and block them in and stick post-its on things I can't move).
Thinking about organising a man and van (2 men would be better as I want a van big enough to fit the polytunnel frame in without dismantling it - it's doubled up so 1.5 m x 2 m rather than the full 3 m). Could move niece's stuff and most of my stuff and leave the armchairs and bed for now (niece thinks it would be nice to have somewhere comfortable to sit whilst working on the house - I was just going to bring more garden chairs in). If niece, niece's friend and DS1 are all around at some point tomorrow we could do lots.
This morning it's going to be more paperwork - I want all the receipts nailed down (will probably be double sided sellotape) and put plastic pockets in order and into a file (hoping I still have 2) and mum's lodger is coming round about 11 am. He's going to organise the gas check at a time convenient for him and buy a carbon monoxide alarm - I said he should have one and he's going to ask about the ones they have at work (supported living). I also want to finish or redo the probate forms (luckily I wrote all my replies down as I was doing them and the figures I used for the inheritance tax calculations).
Then go and move furniture to make space for the things I'm taking with me and if it's not chucking it down, clear more of the garden and put the pots in place. If it chucks it down tomorrow's plant pots will have to be lined up along the garden starting at the house end. Getting stuff in place now is much easier than trying to shuffle thigs round when stuff is everywhere but not going to exhaust myself.
Grateful for relaxing, having food (had to jazz up the 'lovely lentil bake'), new pans, the end being in sight (this phase anyway), books, feeling safe (still a bit lost and don't know what my future life will look like but safe). My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage13 -
Evening turtles
Long day today but a good one. Because of the tube strike I had to walk to and from a visit at work, I think I've walked for about 90 minutes in total today which is more than I've done for a while! I popped into Camden Market on my way back to the office, it's very changed from my youth! Bought an ice cream from a place I've wanted to try so not a NSD but it was semi planned. I also bought tickets to a Titanic exhibition but that's not till April. I want to do something fun and different every month, doesn't have to be expensive but just something enjoyable.
One of my rabbits ate some plastic overnight so I spent all day paranoid that I'd come home to a poorly bun but touch wood they both seem OK.
Grateful for dry weather for my long walks, cooking dinner this morning so all I had to do was microwave it, and a good day at work.Save £4,000 in 2023 - £6,900 as of September11 -
