    Update:

Letter before claim has come through. Have 14 days to make a decision.

I’ve emailed the landowner and complained. Just waiting to see what they say. Hoping that they will just cancel the invoice and this will all be over.

Have a feeling that this won’t happen however. So asking UKPC for a SAR request to see what I can use for the defence.

Anxious about it all and it’s getting to me.

You haven't told us who has sent you that letter.

The simple fact that it only offers you fourteen days to respond means that it is not a Letter Before Claim or Letter of Claim and your posts last April told us you understood that.

I would suggest to you that that letter is nothing more than a debt collectors letter.
The fourth post of the NEWBIES thread explains exactly how to deal with debt collectors letters, but to summarise that post - ignore them.

You seem to have learnt nothing over the last year.

When you started this thread you were telling us about debt collectors letters.

You are still telling us about debt collectors letters.
Was the guidance offered last year no good?

Didn't you send a SAR to the parking company last year?
Not sure about that. It’s not a debt collection letter. It’s a claim form from the “County Court Business Centre”.

I can get 28 days if I need time to prepare a defence, or contest the court’s jurisdiction but must respond within 14 days.

Pretty sure I sent a SAR email, yes.

    Well that's entirely different.

Not sure how you were expecting to get an appropriate answer when all you told us was "Letter before claim has come through. Have 14 days to make a decision".

What is the Issue Date on your County Court Claim Form?

Does it really say LETTER BEFORE CLAIM ?   giving you 14 days
Is this from QDR or one of the other crankies

The law is clear .... a letter before claim must give you 30 days to respond and a further 30 to take debt advice.

If it really says LETTER BEFORE CLAIM, please upload the letter here, redacting your personal info

You do not have to do anything in 14 days!  That isn't a LBC.
I think I need to :( it’s a claim form from the County Court Business Centre. Looks like it’s signed by a “Yasmin Mia”.

Looks like I can pay the whole thing- with added court costs and legal representative fees bringing it up to £273.24. I certainly won’t do this!

Or I can make a defence, giving me 28 days instead of 14 to make one.

Can make claim for part of it or a counterclaim and make a defence.

Or ignore it completely. Not this option either!

@JustAUser now is the time to go back and read the second post of the Newbies/FAQ thread where everything is explained about the process you are in and what to do when. You cannot just skim-read that thread and hope that you get free advice from the experts here without putting in a bit of effort to educate yourself about the process.

You have already shown your lack of effort by not understanding the difference between a debt collector letter, an LoC or an actual County Court Claim. Nothing angers us more than someone who is expecting all the free advice but is not willing to put in much effort on their part to at least understand the process and the difference between the different types of letter.

Your next step is to acknowledge service. The second post Newbies/FAQ explains it all but don't do anything until @KeithP has posted on here the deadlines you need to meet.

Claim filed by QDR solicitors or DCBLegal?
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

A slight problem is that I am still waiting for an answer to this question...

The issue date is 27 March 2023. This only arrived a couple of days ago though.
