If you want help and guidance and the NEWBIE doesn't do it for you (there is a wealth of information in there) you would be well advised to start your own thread with all the details.feduptoo said:Oh my word! I have come here because I have had several letters in a short space of time from the same people. Hahaha, I would love to say “why yes I’d love to accept your offer of £210 that you’re going to give to me”patient_dream said:
HAHA ..... the famous DCBL offer letter ... they don't want to go to court do they ?JustAUser said:Update:
Received a without prejudice email. To my old email, under my old name.Tempted to say that I will accept a settle…for zero pounds!!!
They’re offering £210.I might also point out that they have outdated details.Hopefully a discontinuation will be on its way soon as well.Edit: will ignore this offer of course as well. But need I remind them of my actual details?
Some people offer ZERO, others assume DCBL will be be paying you £210
Won't hurt to play their silly game
DCBL are now time limited, do they go court or discontinue ?It’s been so long now, they’re really just trying scare tactics.I’m tempted to just reject the offer, but if this does go to court, will I look unfavourable because I’ve declined this offer? Logically, it makes no difference, it’s only an offer, but logic is not in DCBL’s dictionary. Maybe it’s just better to ignore. But that’s just my thoughts2 -
It will make no difference as you can bet money that they are about to discontinue. Even, in the extremely unlikely event it ever went to court, their offer to settle is not considered. You are defending the ridiculous and woefully inadequate PoC and your robust defence is what will lead to their inevitable discontinuation.JustAUser said:

Personally I would ignore, leave them in limboJustAUser said:

Choices for DCBL ... a court spanking or discontinuation0 -
Newbies thread is definitely helpful and I would definitely recommend checking through there- I learnt this midway through this whole thing! I’ve been looking at similar cases for advice as well. I update here just in case there are other people who are in similar circumstances and they want to see how this case ends up.feduptoo said:Oh my word! But yes check newbies first and check out similar threads first! If you’re dealing with these two companies then don’t worry, this won’t go near the court. Good luck!2 -
Thank you for this. I will tell them that I will settle for zero poundsUncleThomasCobley said:

Update:
I’ve been given a court hearing date: 08/03/2024 at 10am
It states that I have to pay the court trial of £27.00 or file an application for help with fees by 4pm on 9th February or the claim will be struck out. Can someone please link a thread or explain what this means? I just haven’t seen this in similar cases
I assume the deadline for the witness statements is 14 days before the hearing, as it says that each party must deliver the copies of all of the documents 14 days before the hearing, and there’s nothing else to suggest otherwise on the letter I’ve been sent
Will follow advice on here for the witness statement. Time to get pictures and information.0 -
