Back on track! At Parkex23 this week BPA speakers were outlining their current ideas on Regs. "Deadline" for consultation is 20? July when MPs go on hols, but there was some cynicism about this and at least the suggestion that end-of-hols might be more realistic. BPA say they welcome all of the Regs (and are moving to adopt them) apart from the BPA red-light issues - the parking charge cap and the removal of the debt recovery fee. All fairly predictable, with the whitewash brushes on standby! One key focus will be the consultation process this time round - a lot of effort going into hitting MPs - both by industry & landlords. Last time consultation drew less than 40 responses. We can surely do better this time guys??? BE PREPARED! GET YOUR RETALIATION IN FIRST.BPA presented themselves/industry as acting like angels to protect the "good" motorists from the "bad" motorists. Strangely enough, regulation of motorists was not really the motivating factor for DLUHC action - it was (AND STILL IS) the dispicable behaviour by the "bad" operators that created the all-party energy.9

Yep, that ties in with what I know from my own info, and what the BPA have spewed out before in Parking News.
Not sure why they think the Consultation might be delayed beyond July. I don't. I hope not.
Can't wait to see what dross the IPC come out with and how they'll try to 'sell' their apparently planned new Code of Practice 'update' (adding only the bits of the DLUHC Code that the IPC find palatable) and some crappy "info for motorists" that I expect them to churn out very soon.
Bring it on! Should amuse us on here.
Both the BPA and IPC like to try to shift the blame but after experiencing the aggression of the Judicial Reviews and seeing PPC World bare their litigious teeth, I don't think the Government are likely to fall for any of it!PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Does any of this change anything for any pending hearings from now until this continues? Or is it business as normal?0

Or is it business as normal? You'll see from our Template Defence that as far as we are concerned, 'business as normal' since 2022 has been to talk about the incoming Code because it is a clear steer for Judges.
We are certainly hanging our hat on the new Code wording for defences and Witness Statements and do not expect much to change when the DLUHC issue their Impact Assessment to push it all (hopefully all) over the finish line. That's what I'd say about it to a Judge.PRIVATE 'PCN'?
