Got an existing FlexAccount, FlexDirect or FlexPlus?
- Switch by selecting 'Switch to Nationwide' in online banking – fulfil the criteria and you'll get £125.
YES!

OK - so you were an existing Nationwide customer with one of the named accounts?
And you then switched a non Nationwide current account in, yes?🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

@EmmaJones1976 - I agree0

But 'fulfil the criteria' entails switching in a non-Nationwide account, as explained in the MSE piece and (more importantly) Nationwide's own site....emmajones1976 said:Got an existing FlexAccount, FlexDirect or FlexPlus?

If this bit is total Jackanory then the MSE guys need to take it out.6 -
For the avoidance of doubt - the actual quote from the MSE site reads thus:That gives the context that is missing in the section posted by the OP.
Important! You need to be switching from a non-Nationwide account to qualify for the bonus. You won't get it if you're changing an existing Nationwide account to a different account.

A Nationwide member without one of these three accounts?
- Open an account and request to switch during application – again, you'll qualify for the £125.
Not an existing Nationwide member?
- Open one of the above accounts but DON'T request to switch during application. Instead, wait until the day after it's fully open, so you're then a Nationwide member, and at that point switch by selecting 'Switch to Nationwide' in online banking. This way you'll be eligible for the £125 bonus.
- If you open an account and switch during application, before becoming a Nationwide member, you'll get the lower £100 bonus.

That's exactly how it works, I've used it myself. If you try switching a Nationwide account though it's not switching TO Nationwide is it? But it also clearly says Fulfil the criteria as well- so unless those are done it won't pay outemmajones1976 said:Got an existing FlexAccount, FlexDirect or FlexPlus?

That clarifies nothing. It clearly suggests an EXISTING Nationwide account holder can do something in internet banking and still get the £125.1

In my mind, if you read the full info regarding the switching criteria, it contradicts itself

As indeed you can and I did. But it still has to be a non Nationwide account you switch to Nationwide.emmajones1976 said:That clarifies nothing.
