UKPC parking ticket for being over 10 minutes, I am disabled, appeal ignored.

Just been reading the original thread. What a lovely lady you are Stacey. I really hope you get this one sorted out pronto.

And for what it is worth, I have no disabilities and I could very easily (and happily) spend two hours browsing the aisles in The Range.

Did you not see the reciept picture she uploaded? It had 52 items totally at over £204!  Which is more than reasonable considering it was on a weekend in the run up to Xmas. Bearing in mind she has serious reduced mobility issues (wheelchair- which also ran out of Juice plus has to be loaded/ unloaded from a car or mobility van in this case as well as stopping to administer essential meds before entering the busy shop). Each of those 52 items would no doubt of been perused,  compared against other stock and searched for taking several minutes in some cases - it isn't Supermarket Sweep, especially not when it's jam packed in there with heavy queues, footfall and you're disabled with an elderly relative in tow etc etc etc 🙄 

Which PPC/ legal firm do you work at again? 😆

As you can see, their post in this thread is not atypical ... they just seem to like to be confrontational rather than provide any positive contribution to any thread.

I was not sure if to respond to you, or ignore you. But, I will give you the benefit of the doubt, that you generally don’t understand how life is for disabled people and try to help you understand.

Yes! I spent over 2 hours in ‘The Range’ store. It is a very big store. And as a wheelchair user, I often have to double take down an aisle, as often one end of the aisle will be blocked for my wheelchair to get through. 

Also, I go up the aisles one side, and down the other as I can’t see to well, as my head is tilted to the left side. This makes it easier for me to browse the aisle and not miss anything. But also takes much, much longer than the average person. However, it means I don’t get overwhelmed and enjoy my shopping.

 

What I had not said during my first post, as I didn’t think it needed to be said, is I also brought a new chair for my husband whilst I was there. For his Christmas present. That took some time to, asking for help taking chairs down to try. 

 

Here is the receipt for that.

And as I can not find the recite for B&M I found a statement from my bank here.

And just so there is no confusion. Here is a Google map image, show there is not much else around to do. Only ‘The Range’, ‘B&M’ and ‘Asda’

I did go to Asda, I have recite for that to, but that was after the time of my parking ticket, because we changed to their car park after we finished shopping at ‘The Range’ and ‘B&M’, I know I had to, so I did. 

 

So yes, the answer to your question, is a very simple yes. I spent over 2 hours in ‘The Range’ and after spending nearly 2 years stuck inside shielding from covid, I can tell you, I would have spent longer in ‘The Range’ if I didn’t have to go do my medications and a medical treatment.

yesss I remember the thunderbird I have copy of it.

and yes I sort out the tickets for my own space. My PAs (Carers) where getting tickets for parking in my parking space. And the parking company had no authority to ticket my spot. My housing officer fixed it all. Because my tenancy agreement says my PAs can park there. I got all their tickets cancelled via my housing officer.
