    Eight years, maybe 1000 - 1200 m3/yr - I'll take 8500 m3.

Bit optimistic I think, given they will not have been trying to reduce usage, so I'll go for 14500 m3

I'll go for an outlier guess of 16000.

All readings have been estimates, although have it in writing that an actual was taken in Jan 2020, I did ask Eon to send the same guy round as he obviously knows something I do not.   I remember that happening as my wife and I were out and my son would not let the meter man in so have not a Scooby as to how the meter was read.

When the guy came the other day I did show him where it was supposed to be and he agreed with me it was not there.

To assist the sweep, pre most current raise have been paying 87.25 p/m.

not a heavy user as house is well insulated so don't have heating on a lot.

When I spoke to the the network grid (as instructed by Eon) they told me it was Eon's responsibility for the meter, I also asked Barrett's when they told me of its location as to what is next and have never had a response.

@JulesSheah could you photo each side of your house at ground level and post it. (If that's not a privacy intrusion)

Just incase the eagle.eyed can spot something.

Also sometimes they are on garages or at the back of a garage etc

Any bets that he made a reading up when he couldn't find the meter ??
Not me - its a racing certainty - he did not read it.

Over the years  I assume you initially took out a 12 month fix -   did you take out fixes subsequently ?   or after year 1 has everything been at a variable rate ?

I think, like the electric you will prove to be a high user well over the 12000 KWh a year.

    (I'm a back of a fag packet man) Assuming my 11200 m3 =  125,000 Kwh @ say 2.5p average = £3125
    8  years =  3000 days @15p = £450

adding VAT over the years total bill £4000

     DD goes perhaps £30 in year 1 so average of £60 =  £720 per year x 8 years £5600

A potential refund of £1600 - is that enough of an incentive to break into that meter box ?

Open the box. Open the box. Open the box.

There is a good chance that it was an actual read taken previously as it's probably behind that panel.
You may have had a meter reader with a bit more determination and nous to open the panel.

As I said somewhere above that panel may just be clipped on or on magnets.

You NEED to get that panel off
