Servicing costs for a '68 plate BMW M4 Competition

Is this actually, as per the thread title "BMW M4 Competition"?utopia55 said:Hi, I recently purchased an Approved Used BMW
I am wondering what the approximate servicing costs
If so, stop wondering about the costs. Every single thing will be 2 arms + 2 legs + several vital organs!
Don't do budget tyres on a performance car lest you will end up dead in a ditch.1 -
You are on the right lines, however further money can be saved by swapping the ridiculously wide wheels fitted for narrower ones. I've done it with my Lamborghini Diablo, changing the factory wheels for a set of 14" items from a Vauxhall Astra. Those allow the mounting of 'Landsail' tyres, which cost only £30 each. The only modification required for the car is fitment to each wheel hub of an appropriate spacer, such as those made by Sheila B Devotion.utopia55 said:The tyres are around 3.5mm at the back and 5.5mm at the front. So the rear tyres will need replacing within the next 6 months or so. They are quite big at 285 width and 20" diameter, would it be worth buying budget tyres at the OEM Michelin PS4s run at around £250-£280 a corner but I can have the budget ones for less than half the price.9 -
Ps4s are great tyres, I've got some. But you want ps4s*, that's the OEM ones specifically for beemers, probably for M cars but I can't be bothered to goole it.utopia55 said:The tyres are around 3.5mm at the back and 5.5mm at the front. I know people exactly like this in real life. Stretch them selves to such an extent that they struggle putting petrol in just to have a fancy Merc/BMW. These cars are notoriously expensive to maintain and are only for people who genuinely have a decent disposable income.1

And a hatred of comfort - the ride on the M-Competition cars is spine-breakingly harsh as that makes for good handling apparently.Deleted_User said:These cars are notoriously expensive to maintain and are only for people who genuinely have a decent disposable income.
I am jealous of Ditzy with her modified Lambo getting tyres at £30 each - even my Focus, the cheapest tyres were £150 for a full set (cash only deal)
Good thing on the swap to regular wheels and tyres is the softer ride will be more comfortable.

Wow- cant believe that was 2014, I remember the halcyon days of trying to get DM to do the custard test. Made me smile reading it again. How I wish is was still 2014......TadleyBaggie said:

No, but you need to have joined to be "trying to get DM to do the custard test". How can you interact with another forum member if you're not one yourself?scrappy_returns said:
