Evening all. (((Hugs))) to all finding life difficult atm xxx
My achievements today:
- almost managed to hold my tongue when DH didn't get up until 9.20, so we didn't finish breakfast until 10.10. I used to work from 6.00-2.00, so that's like half my working day gone...
- put a sausage casserole in the SC for tea
- FUPA all the dry washing
- cleaned the shower and shower mat, and S&S'd the rest of the bathroom
- hoovered all through downstairs
- realised that, having rehomed one or two items a day from a random pile in my bedroom, the c-o-d is almost clear
- booked a hair cut for tomorrow
- sorted and filed piles of papers, so the spare bed is clear again
- sent emails/texts as needed
- made phonecalls
- made decisions about an event on the 30th and a course starting in February
- got lunch
- took Rosie for her walk
- wrote to my sponsored child
- spoke to DGS2 who has spent his 12th birthday today playing computer games (off school with Covid)
- got tea
- the GP rang DH out of the blue, so had to hang around to check appointment dates, etc.
- went out to church council meeting, where we got a lot of business done and lots of decisions made
- came home to find the tea things still on the table and worktops, and DH watching Endeavour.
- filled the DW, wiped the worktops
- told DH I need breakfast earlier tomorrow, please, because of my hair appointment.
Going to wrap a couple of small presents before I go to bed, to post to my friend in India and her new baby.
I have arranged for the son of an old friend of mine (I've known him since he was a toddler) who earns his living as a gardener to come and work for me for a couple of hours twice a month. DH and I both love having a colourful garden, but he won't look after it and my painful shoulder means I can't do much. I've cancelled the lawn treatments people, so I shall not be too far out of pocket, and I'm supporting the local economy.
Hope the WAC biscuit tin doesn't attract too many people tonight. I was there last night, but I missed round. Rosie had better not wake me up at 4.30 again tomorrow! I did eventually go back to sleep for another hour,

Iona you are so busy and productive!
I had a bit of a stint in the WAC last night, but managed to get enough sleep to drag myself out and go to Body Pump this morning. Glad I went but it was an effort. Need to make a decision as to whether to renew gym membership as my real love is anything dance-like, preferably zumba, and they haven't done any since first lockdown as they are only using their employed fitness instructors for classes and not external ones, which all the dancey ones are. I like the gym swim and some of the other classes I do, but really miss zumba. Will have to make a concerted effort to seek out other local venues.
Went from gym to uni, lovely student. Have started typing her report already, still determined to keep up this term.
Can't really report having done much else, a bit of admin and a bit of tidying, made dinner, did some drum practice.Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.10 -
Morning all. Up and hopefully going here. OH has gone to work so I can put the radio on and make a noise.
DW sorted
WM on, 2 more loads and mountain will be conquered
Next, breakfast then I want to try and have a go at the little bits left in the living room & library. Then dust and hoover. I also have a couple of errands to run but will leave those until this afternoon as I am usually more productive in the morning and going for a drive round dropping bits off is less of a chore.
Smiling, radio on, now time for porridge and coffee11 -
Morning all xx
I'll join Valli in the 'must not resign' gang xx
Here I am ready to face whatever the day brings. In the lull before calls started coming in yesterday I wrote down the pros and cons of the job - and ran out of room on the cons side! 🤣 I was asked to complete an online survey regard staff wellbeing 🤣 So I did. It's supposedly anonymous 🤣 We'll see.
But, on the positive side, I made a difference to all of the people who phoned asking for assistance- even the two callers that lived out of County. Sometimes you have to walk the extra mile and it's worth it when you hear the relief in the caller's voice. I love that part of my job. And a colleague told me how good I am with callers - so I shined my halo 😇. Just hope I don't get all the sweary calls today now!
I'll feed the birds and put out the recycling before I toddle off.
I'm going to FU the dry washing and put the airer away, assuming it's all dry. Every little helps.
Love to you all

Round, it sounds like you do a fantastic job which impacts people more than you can imagine.
Box of cycling stuff now in the wardrobe
HHI done, basket empty
Bits off coffee table, table dusted
Cake and coffee being enjoyed
Recycling out, bin bag taken out too, bins both looking nice and full for bin me, tomorrow.
Off to go and look for something else to do, finding it hard to get stuck in to anything but trying to do bits and bobs in the hope it will eventually make a difference and better than doing nothing.
