Morning all. Another lie in here. I had the window open all night and slept well. It's closed now though. Just having first cuppa.
No real plans today.
Have a great day everyone.Spend less now, work less later.11 -
Morning all,
It was hit and miss as to whether DS would go to school today, but he soon rallied after some Calpol and cereal. So far I have washed the dogs bedding which is now on the line, chopped some more pallet wood, made the beds, WUDUPA, dealt with some admin and seen to the chickens.
Oh and I have also read the electricity meter - I have taken to submitting weekly readings now to my supplier.
Fayolle & YL - You both know my views on money. You are doing what you need to do for your families - take what you need from it, and leave the rest there. You are both real sources of inspiration to me, I cannot even imagine how you have coped with your respective childrens' illnesses, and the children having such wonderful mummies who are always there for them is worth more than any car/fancy holiday/home renovation. Big love to you both xx
I am going to put my heated throw on to be warming up, and go and chop a bit more wood.
Round - I am thinking of you today xx
Take care all x10 -

Aww, ASB, you made me cry - in a good “thank you” kind of way xx Oh, and did I read correctly that piggies are arriving chez ASB? May be my imagination.First list all nicely ticked off ✅. Second list sneaked in and also given the ✅ treatment.Washing hung up
2 x beds changed and bedding queuing for wm slot later / tomorrow
DD’s room thoroughly dusted and vacuumed (her request!), our bedroom ditto
Rushed the vacuum cleaner across the landing and into the bathroom and spare room before DH went back on a call.
Making a cuppa, have moved DD’s car to the muddy spot on the drive so that Ii can get mine in and out more easily, then it is the bathroom’s turn, as that is a relatively quiet job.10 -
@Fayolle yes you read right honey, pigs coming to ASB cottage soon xx11

Admin done, aborted dog walk so had long walk with DH. Washing off airer and away, more washing on airer. Dailies done.
I now have more council work to plough through. It's one of those weeks.Spend less now, work less later.10 -
Yaaay! for piggies
I have had a most frustrating morning (as most days seem to be turning out this month). Net result:
- S&S'd kitchen
- did 5-minute pick-up and straightened things in LR/DR/DH's room
- did WMx1 and transferred to TD
- found lime scale remover whilst looking for a new bottle of shower cleaner for DH (Brownie point for him actually using the stuff) and in less than 5 minutes cleaned off the limescale which has been collecting on the bath for nearly 10 years
- gave rest of bathroom a lick (not literally!) and a promise - yesterday's still damp washing is draped everywhere, so I can't clean properly anyway
- recorded church collections and counted out money to be paid into the bank via our local PO this afternoon
- printed off some more collection record sheets
- filed a few of the many bits of paper that are covering the spare bed
- ate biscuits while DH was out at SW
- started Greek lemon chicken soup for lunch.
This afternoon I must go to the PO and pharmacy, and take Rosie for her walk.
Soup is ready for blitzing.
(((Hugs))) spoons and sticks to all in need xxx

Last day of germy exile for me today.. 2 more days for Twinkle and 3 for everyone else.. Cabin fever is more likely to kill me!! I have had worse colds in all honesty.. but Boog would have died had I not been vigilant and got him to hospital when I did. DD1 is quite unwell still too but she is prone to severe chest infections and her poor kidney function has been brought in to play too.. It is a scale same as many other illnesses but we can not hide from this or prevent it.. we may be fortunate to avoid other diseases but not this. First time round was much much worse but much less contagious. there are so many factors when dealing with health issues and we are thankful we remain alive and weren't unwell at all really, who really wants to be unwell? We don't all experience things in the same way and to dismiss anothers suffering because 'I'm alright' is a truly wicked thing to do, dismissing anothers loss or experience is plain nasty. I am a firm believer in fate and when your heart beats it's first, its last beat is set and no one knows when or why or the circumstances of that last beat, it is all in the hands of The Fates. As with anyone who has lost a loved one, our love and condolences are with them and if we can do anything useful at all, we are here.
2 parcels still to post, 1 to pick up, shoe check for the girls.. Pixie needs canoes but that will have to be donen on Saturday. Pixies coat needs picking up from the local Hermes drop off point but it is in OH's name so he has to go.. and I need to nag about Dots glasses repair.. apparently OH has left them in the opticians.. She can't blooming see!!!! Why are men so broken?!
Girls and cats fed.
DW emptied and reloaded.
I'm going to slob on my bed.. the girls are in here on the xbox and I just can not cope with the noise.. I do not need to sit and listen to it..

lost track of days.
Yesterday went well at first: a run, one load through WM and hung out in frosty sun; one load through DW. Fun started when Mr N returned home from gym (in my car) and I discovered my phone charger wasn't in the car as expected. Phone totally dead. Turned house upside down several times before reluctantly weighing up environmental and ethical reasons for either getting onto Am&z0n or driving into town. Town won. Posted letters on the way. First shop, (EE) 19.99 eek. 2nd shop (Cu££y) 14.99 which rang up as 12.99 on the till. Decided as I was there, I'd do a bit of browsing (shops are not my hobby - happens probably once a quarter). Shop (cheap household) had a charger in the sale for 6.99.....so anyway I now have two. Yet to find my original but at least when it turns up I can leave one in the car, one in the PC and one in the kitchen (which are pretty well the only places i charge up). Finished and emailed a report, so I'm up to date and have already prepared paperwork for next 2 assessments. Still plodding on with culling emails and download folder. Haven't started on photos much, still need to decide which duplicate finder to use. Hairy Bikers stuffed corn bread has done us 3 dinners, so that's good.
Today started with a gym swim and coffee with girls.
Remembered to take quick meal out of freezer as we are braving the cinema this evening.
Mr N and I went for a walk, 20 mins drive to park but we wanted to a) look at another lake which does swimming and b) look at a new bird hide. Much as i love the sea and we keep talking about moving, Lee Valley Park has so many lovely rivers and lakes so...
More emails between Parking dept at uni and myself trying to sort out new parking permit, system keeps telling me my name is invalid......only been there for 8 yrs.
Did some drumming practice.
Off to eat now, then out.
Sorry for recent losses Dizzy. It's a year since we lost MIL to Covid and a year since my friend (cancer), so her husband is struggling and exchanging lots of messages with Mr N who is very supportive.
WAC seems to be very busy these days; I seem to spend alternate nights there.
Piggies ASB how lovely.Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.9
