ASB, does he still enjoy 'social' activities? I think we all have our follies, some people just try to hide them from others. What is odd for one person is not for another. I would only be concerned if for example he wouldn't go away overnight, type sleepover, friend or scouts, because he was worrying he couldn't go to sleep without his ritual.
My DD1 (now a junior pediatric doctor) used to recite her 3 times table in her head when her swimming coach shouted at her, it took so much effort to learn that it was a sort of relief and way of ignoring him. But she is also the first person to point out she is a witch, speaks a foreign language, left handed, red hair and can spend a long time underwater (not tried burning her at the stake).
What is normal?12 -
And this ^^^^^^^^ is just why I love you all. Sound, sensible advice and comments. You’re just wonderful.
Thanks ladies for your input. He is still a sociable boy, and enjoys playing sport with his friends at school. He gets easily overwhelmed by people at times, but I do as well so that’s not surprising. As you say, if it starts to impact on his ability to be sociable, stay at grandmas etc I will address it again.
He’s an incredibly bright boy, and I do wonder if he invents the challenges to keep his mind occupied all the time, especially when he’s bored at school (he’s light years ahead of the others according to his teacher).
Thank you again xx

ASB, sounds totally normal to me as another who has spent my life doing the same to differing degrees. They are to a certain extent coping mechanisms in certain situations and trying to retain control of what's around if that makes sense.
Today I have done my first work shift and lots of walking and not a lot else. My pain is annoying today, I actually have a face to face appointment with the doctor on Monday.Spend less now, work less later.13 -
I've done the daily stuff, played with 2 of the cats, wild garden is now sorted, until I change my mind.I've found and sort through my seeds, and made a mix for the wild garden ready to sow mid to end of Feb.Two of the builders I used last year dropped by to pick up the stuff they left last August as they nee it on a job next week, OH asked them where we should send the storage bill to, and informed them they were lucky I hadn't listed it on eby!Breast Cancer Now 100 miles October 2022 100 / 100miles

I am broken. My friend made me do heavy-duty gardening for four hours! I can hardly walk and am grateful I'm not on shift tonight. Driveway border looks bare and brutalised.

Hi all
Have another headache, just stress I think, going to get an early night. There is flying to do but I will catch up tomorrow. Done the paid stuff, washed the car, been into town to get DHs sick note from the doctors and called at Lidl for a few essentials. Oh and I made myself go for a walk to get some fresh air.
I need to sleep.12 -

Freezing start here too, so have seen in my doggy visitor and got myself a cuppa. I also need a shower and CBA but I've got to face the football parents at 9.45am so need to get a move on.
I'm putting on weight, not losing it so well done Round. I really want to eat more healthily but am lacking motivation and inspiration. Years ago I was a Slimming World instructor so I know the drill. And my weight-loss coach is still on my case, so I need to stop swerving him and knuckle down!
Today I need to do some washing and ironing before an overnight shift, plus I MUST do some accounts as the deadline is looming.

Morning all
Thank you again for your support yesterday xxx
Started my day in a gloomy fashion reading about the cost of living going sky high due to energy costs and spiralling food costs, alongside tax hikes etc. Frugal preparation will have to step up a notch here I think.
Today is busy - lots of scrap wood to chop, washing to see to, my mum is calling round and I promised we will bake a cake with the children. I have lots of fat that I’ve saved in a jar from cooking so we are going to make some fat balls for the birds too.
Have super days all xx
