We’d like to remind Forumites to please avoid political debate on the Forum.
This is to keep it a safe and useful space for MoneySaving discussions. Threads that are – or become – political in nature may be removed in line with the Forum’s rules. Thank you for your understanding.
PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING: Hello Forumites! In order to help keep the Forum a useful, safe and friendly place for our users, discussions around non-MoneySaving matters are not permitted per the Forum rules. While we understand that mentioning house prices may sometimes be relevant to a user's specific MoneySaving situation, we ask that you please avoid veering into broad, general debates about the market, the economy and politics, as these can unfortunately lead to abusive or hateful behaviour. Threads that are found to have derailed into wider discussions may be removed. Users who repeatedly disregard this may have their Forum account banned. Please also avoid posting personally identifiable information, including links to your own online property listing which may reveal your address. Thank you for your understanding.

What is a bit upsetting is that I think some people that have disappeared might be neurodivergent and a bit blunt in their nature, with no harm intended.People like PasturesNew who was almost totally isolated in the real world. I think she may have found a home on a forum that sprung up as a result of some
boards here being shut during lockdown, but I forgot the name of it.Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

Pastures always made me laugh, I used to look forwards to her posts. She did join the other forum but stopped posting there a while back,All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.0 -

Nah. Suitcases of cash is so last century. It is bin bags or bags for life for smaller quantities
Any language construct that forces such insanity in this case should be abandoned without regrets. –

As said everyone comes new to a subject at some time that's why we have schools, apprentice, university, mentors etc.
All involve people sharing their experience repeatedly with someone new.
As you get older you can start to take your own knowledge for granted and see it as obvious then can't understand why others don't know such basic stuff.

But this thread, with its mention of people being effectively cancelled, intrigues me?
I'm obviously a real lightweight, 'cos although I used to make the odd contribution here (usually smugly referencing my pre-disposition for shared freeholds in flats, or my wish for a time-machine so I could warp back and buy more of the various 3-4 bedroom Victorian wrecks I've bought and lived in over the years, for what now seem unbelievable prices; £10k in 1975, £34k in 1985, £67k in 2007, in inner city South London slum areas which have now become magically bijou...) I've never been threatened with expulsion... But then I've never been a reliable or frequent contributor as is eveidenced by my coming late to this thread?
So Vaya con Dios y Gracias, Doozergirl... Pastures new?0
