We’d like to remind Forumites to please avoid political debate on the Forum.

This is to keep it a safe and useful space for MoneySaving discussions. Threads that are – or become – political in nature may be removed in line with the Forum’s rules. Thank you for your understanding.

PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING: Hello Forumites! In order to help keep the Forum a useful, safe and friendly place for our users, discussions around non-MoneySaving matters are not permitted per the Forum rules. While we understand that mentioning house prices may sometimes be relevant to a user's specific MoneySaving situation, we ask that you please avoid veering into broad, general debates about the market, the economy and politics, as these can unfortunately lead to abusive or hateful behaviour. Threads that are found to have derailed into wider discussions may be removed. Users who repeatedly disregard this may have their Forum account banned. Please also avoid posting personally identifiable information, including links to your own online property listing which may reveal your address. Thank you for your understanding.

And the offending post (or even the entire thread) gets deleted.

Any language construct that forces such insanity in this case should be abandoned without regrets. –

And if you're particularly dense you don't realise that the lovely yellow/red colours are meant to be red and yellow cards...........:)

I agree about searching but sometimes things change so reading old information can be wrong.

There could be different variations of the same question.

Try to take a break or ignore the posts that annoy you.
Not everything is worth responding to.
  • The big problem with forums in general is that when one searches a query or topic in the hope of finding an answer, so many threads take you to a dead end.

It's really helpful if people can post feedback/updates to their initial queries. So few bother though.

The other thing I notice is that whenever someone resurrects an old thread they get a flurry of responses telling them that the thread they've responded to is X months/years old and to start a new one!
