A few people do seem to be returning, from what I read, but the war's not over by any means I know I'd want my child out of a war zone, for sure.

We'll see. It's whether she can get up the impulsion to make the trip again.
Last night the little boy hadn't had his dinner at 10.20 and I wished he was here. I'm not his parent, though.

I've been remiss! Went to Brum and got to meet my new colleagues in person. Gods! They're tall! I'm 5'8" and felt like a shortarse.

Such happy news! DH is cancer-free! 

Our Ukr family still not returned...

I am so happy to hear DH's news, how wonderful 

5'8" is a good height - Mrs E is 5'7" and is above average height for a woman!

Ps. Our front border is being taken over by alechemilla mollis - it is lovely!

I love love love it, I've just bought a couple of plants and I hope it self-seeds everywhere.

I'm so shallow, @edinburgher I got thoroughly overexcited being off the leash around tall blokes with Belfast accents

Must be so many ambivalent feelings, though, about the Ukr family   Here's an interesting snippet for you, though: I always keep an eye out nowadays for connections to Ukraine, and guess whose parents emigrated to the USA from Ukraine?  The original Mr Spock, Leonard Nimoy himself!  First generation American, from the Ukraine originally.  I come across that such a lot nowadays.
