Worth every penny then. I always make covetous eyes at the wool couture 'Hannah Blanket Knitting Kits' that are everywhere, such lovely colour ways and nice merino wool.
I may never need to buy wool again though after yesterdays outing *coughs*My mortgage free diary: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6498069/whoops-here-comes-the-cheese

Had a good day 😊
Lazy start with a cuppa in bed and reading.
Fed the greenhouse plants (sprinkled the ferocious smelling comfrey compost) and gave it a good water.
Lobbed the courgette plants in the ground - no finesse to this, but fed with more comfrey compost, a good water and a copper ring each 👏
Cut loads of sweet peas - gave half the bunch to the next door neighbour 😊
Pruned back the hazel from around the baby bay tree and deadheaded the roses on the pergola. Tied one of the roses in.
Did a row of crochet blanket. I will do a bit more after I have prepped my food for tomorrow.Had a good session on the sit spot border - pulled all the fading pink wild flower things, pulled the oriental poppy stems, chopped down the aster growing in front of and through the hibiscus that is clinging on in the middle of the bed, cleared similar plus masses of cleavers (just flowering, not yet set seed! Phew …) from around the purple leaved little shrub and the spindle bush under the contorted hazel, cut the contorted hazel back a bit to give the uncovered shrubs a bit more light and planted some of the osteospermums at the front of the sit spot bed.
Did a quick run through the front garden - made speakers for three more osteospermums and propped up a rose that was flopping forward.Interesting discussion with Mr KK about how to clear the front garden next to the new path we are putting in on the front of the house. We think we will go for a strip of wild flower turf - I will look at prices. That way the spring bulbs that are still in there can be left in there and be part of that process in future years 😊

Mad busy day in work and had to stay late as the sparky turned up to do two little jobs just as I was about to leave. As one of them was a freebie-favour I didn’t feel able to say no! 🤷♀️🙄😂
Then had to go to the big cheapy shop near the site in the way home to buy mouse traps, as we think we’ve seen a dropping in the ladies loo next to the kitchen …
I get all the exciting jobs!! 😂😊
I extracted the riddler from the compost dalek where it lives, to lend to my boss - he’s doing battle with an epic bamboo clump and has a huge heap of excavated soil he needs to clean of roots.Tidied away Mr KK’s washing from the airer and the towels from the tumble. Put the airer away! 👏Picked another big bowl of strawberries and our first broad beans of the year 😊
Packed up another batch of cat food that Chloe-fusspot won’t eat ready for Mr KK to take over to his mum’s / the cat fosterers next door to his mum 😊
That’ll do for a Monday! 😉😊

I think 'thongs' for flip-flops is an Aussie/NZ thing, I know the term having worked in NHS where there are loads of Aussies and New Zealanders. Obviously much hilarity ensues every time they say it and someone hasn't heard it before!
So sad re the memories and the funeral.
All this talk about wool and tapestry makes me nervous. I enjoy looking at others work but am leaving it there.DON'T BUY STUFF (from Frugalwoods)
No seriously, just don’t buy things. 99% of our success with our savings rate is attributed to the fact that we don’t buy things... You can and should take advantage of discounts.... But at the end of the day, the only way to truly save money is to not buy stuff. Money doesn’t walk out of your wallet on its own accord.

The books I posted on te weekend netted me £7.29 - now an OP. 😊
Mr KK is frustrating me. For the first time in three years we are trying to arrange a visit to my parents and he keeps finding things he is doing on all dates suggested. I’m getting quite cross …

Does he not want to go? Or is he genuinely just busy? Can you go without him? Hope you find a date and the visit isn't too bad x2

I don't want to go without him as I need a buffer between my parents and myself these days. Our relationship is that poor now, if I am honest. He does get that.
