Well you could barely see mine for the dust. And there's another few to do but are too big for the dishwasher so will be a separate task at some point.KajiKita said:Oh please @Brie, never feel deflated when reading my posts. I suspect I have dusty vases lurking that I am not even seeing atm! 😂😉

I have done a respectable chunk in the garden 😊 Weeded and cleared dead stuff from spring out of the birder and made space for whatever looks interesting at the plant centre (get me! Clearing space and THEN buying plants … I’ll be an adult and everything one day! 😂😂😂❤️). Relocated a poor, sad, swamped gorgeous dark pink Pink to somewhere it will get more light and lightly lifted the crown of my youngling snowball ‘tree’ 😊 Happy with that 😊

Sounds a grand evening, hope you're having a marvellous time.
Free dinner, lovely kitchen island, and comfortable bras absolute wins.
I've been having lots of departed adored cats (and some people) dreams lately, I guess as the seasons change our brains compare what's different. Hugs and hope you have a good sleep filled with joyous dreams tonight2 -
Love the sound of this kitchen island!!DON'T BUY STUFF (from Frugalwoods)
No seriously, just don’t buy things. 99% of our success with our savings rate is attributed to the fact that we don’t buy things... You can and should take advantage of discounts.... But at the end of the day, the only way to truly save money is to not buy stuff. Money doesn’t walk out of your wallet on its own accord.

We had a kitchen with a big open space in the middle of it - maybe 1.5 by 2.5m or so. We also had a lack of worktop space. Mr KK being a chippy, working with someone who used to be a joiner, whose son is changing his kitchen, found a 1,000 base unit for us with two drawers and two cupboard doors. Mr KK had a 1.2 piece of old worktop floating around (as you do when a chippy) which he cut down and radiused the corners of (I am very, very good at hurting myself on sharp corners). We don’t have any edging but Mr KK is going to fill the chip board ends and paint them black so they ‘disappear’. It doesn’t match the rest of the kitchen, but tbh, that kind of thing never bothers me 😊 We have already made a rule that it has to remain clear on top! So we can use it but it must be completely clear by the end of every day so that space is always available to use. It sits between the fridge and hob so it’s in a useful place and we can still fit a chair in the kitchen - just, though I may try a smaller one from the conservatory.LadyWithAPlan said:Love the sound of this kitchen island!!ATM the drawers are sorted / defined. The excess, less used kitchen utensils ) things like rolling pin, pizza cutters, pastry cutters etc) are in one drawers and plastic food bags, cling film, foil and parchment etc are in the other. The cupboards atm are not defined - everything that was sculling around or on the old oak table have gone in there, for now. We need to give the cupboards more thought.KKAs at 15.12.25:

The island sounds quite wonderful. How clever or Mr KK and well sourced items too. Fab.Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became
In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!1 -
Thanks @Watty1, we wanted to do a try-out of it just to see if it would work, it’s way better than either of us expected 😊
Mr KK and I actually had a night out last night (a vanishingly rare thing!). Nothing very ambitious - down to the chapel tent for a ploughman’s and to listen to a part band (4 of six players I think). They mainly played covers of country and some blues and a few songs of their own. They were really good and we were sat with people Mr KK liked and he actually relaxed and enjoyed himself. I slept like a rock last night for the first time in ages 😊 This band (all of them) are doing a gig in December at the venue that Mr KK and I first met at. We are going to get tickets and head over there. I think it will really do us good to have something to look forward to and do in December without having to travel crazy distances 😊
Warm and sticky here already. There is stuff I want to do in the garden but I think I am going to have to pace myself and limit my ambitions! 😉 Chair of PC needs to come over to get some cheques countersigned (we will be moving to electronic banking soon, thank goodness) and then I can go out and buy plants for my borders with a clear conscience ❤️

Lifted the garlic as I noticed the leaves were just starting to turn yellow. 😊👏
10 bulbs of conventional and 4 of elephant. I have no idea what to do with the latter but I know it needs using fairly quickly compared to standard garlic. Will have a goggle 😊
Beat back the bindweed (it’s was starting to overwhelm) around the shallots - they are looking really good 😊 Planted two astrantias in my cut flower patch (I now have perennials at either end … at this rate they will meet in the middle in years to come! 😉😂😊).

If you don't get the elephant garlic used up and it starts to sprout then just pop it somewhere into the garden border. I did that with some several years back and enjoy the resulting ornamental effect. First year it was a 5 foot stock with the allium flower on the top. This year I've got 4 stocks and all well over 6 foot high. I think they are right jolly. The flowers are just losing their sheath and will be full round purple blue floral balls by next weekend I think. It's my alternative to agapanthus which just won't grow for me.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe, Old Style Money Saving and Pensions boards.
