I have seen some good news: Moorcroft has been saved. The grandson of the last family owner has bought it back from the liquidator ๐๐

- When bought house ยฃ315,995 mortgage debt and end date at start = October 2039 - now ยฃ227,385
- OPs to mortgage = ยฃ12,881 Estd. interest saved = ยฃ6,203 to date
c. 16 months reduction in term

I have just googled Astrantia (still on a very steep learning curve with plants) and I need some - they deter slugs apparently.
Your kitchen island sounds fabulous and lovely to hear you and Mr KK had fun plus plans.
Iโm so with you on the parental issue. I had massive issues with Mum in particular. A long story with a catalogue of stuff many would never understand. I think I used to go on shopping bus trips from my horrid boarding school to close by your parents abode if it begins with an M on the west coast. No seriously, just donโt buy things. 99% of our success with our savings rateย isย attributed to the fact that weย donโt buy things... You can and should take advantage of discounts.... But at the end of the day, the only way to truly save money is to not buy stuff.ย ย ย Money doesnโt walk out of your wallet on its own accord.

Mr KK wanted sausage, egg, chips and peas tonight. I didnโt want the chips (Iโm convinced they disrupt my sleep) so riffed on a recipe I found online and made myself a small portion of wild rice with a shallot vinaigrette with a bit of veggie Parmesan - it was excellent ๐๐ Very chuffed ๐
