Well done, that is so  neat and even.
    Thank you :)

I shared this in a crochet faceache group and two people there recommended that I use a larger needle for the foundation chain, to give me the tension I need, and then swop to the correct needle.

That's a useful tip, I will take note as I would like to be able to produce something with yarn that isn't a gigantic mess.

It impressed me with it's logical simpleness :)

I've realised I have a decent book at home that has clear diagrams of the stitches in certain patterns. You can really properly 'see' the structure of the stiches compared to the finished item, iyswim. I can share some of those here if you like?

Watching the crochet with interest as I have from time to time tried to teach myself those neat little squares.
Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!

ooh yes that makes sense with the foundation chain.  I recommend the H0bbycraft in person short 'how to crochet' session.  The only reason I haven't been back to do the Granny square one is that it is on the wrong side of the city from me, and at 9am so I would get stuck in all the commute traffic.

My blanket is coming on nicely, in between gardening and not sorting the house. Admiring wool is my new alternative to admiring plants though.
