Hope today has been a better day, and if it hasn't, then I hope tomorrow sees a lifting of the spirits all round. We all have days (or several days) when the universe is in a grump and decides to settle down and sulk in our lives and households xhttps://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6466032/an-in-between-phase

Thank you @redofromstart, @ladybird1106, @Cheery_Daff, @SandyShores, @Watty1, @Humdinger1, @f0xh0les, @Brewerspride, @PennysIntoPounds.Today has been a little better, not quite as tired and managed to get through the day working reasonably well all the way through.Chloe is enjoying Sh3ba with gravy, like some other cats around here 😉 and the warm water in her food is a good shout 😊
Today’s ‘exciting adventure’ is having had my credit card hacked and therefore cancelled 🙄 My fault … sigh … My new employer has an app system for booking holidays and there is a QR code to be scanned in the induction paperwork. I tried to do this on my phone yesterday and it was inevitably small on the screen and I didn’t think much of it when it asked for a £1 registration fee. I would have asked other people but I was alone in the office at the time and just wanted to get this piece of admin done … The £1 went through but then they tried to take a further £59.99 this afternoon. MnS (CC provider) stopped it and queried it via text with me. When I finally got to speak to them the only remedy is to cancel the card altogether and have a new one, which will take 5 to 7 working days, at this time of year … sigh …
Do I get the Blithering Idiot award today? 🙄In other news, Chloe is becoming vocal! She’s been very quiet up to now, but she is starting to ‘speak’ to us all of a sudden … It’s really rather cute 🥰
Mr KK has been out for a curry and catch up with his best man tonight, which has done him good. That left me free to eat halloumi and mushrooms for dinner tonight - not something that Mr KK would think of as a meal … 😉

Why on earth would you be the blithering idiot for your employer including a scam QR code in their induction paperwork?! That is definitely not on you.
Glad you're all a wee bit brighter todayhttps://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6466032/an-in-between-phase

Glad you're all a wee bit brighter todayI mean I’m an idiot as when it asked me for my CC details for £1, I should have stopped and queried it …skint_spice said:Glad things are looking brighter. I too have a chatty cat😂

Easily done especially in a new environment when you're trying to get on with things and not be bothersome, I'm sure many of us would have done the same thinking someone just forgot to mention the external system has a pass admin fee that would be refunded. You're not an idiot, blithering or otherwise. Glad it was only a quid and that provider flagged it. Definitely report it to employer tomorrow, and a good reminder to us all to be on guard!https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6466032/an-in-between-phase

As I was reading that my Princess ran through chirruping happily to herself. I like chatty cats too. She is playing thump chase with Tiny cat.
I'd have fallen for the QR code too.

My OH who is an IT architect got to the point of inputting his CC details on a fake EHIC site before realising it was dodgy so it is definitely easily done and does not reflect on you at all, especially given everything you are going through right now.3
