I’ve failed 2 phishing tests recently due to being busy. I’ve passed lots more and report almost every unwanted external email 😎 It’s a great excuse not to open them. The ones I never fall for are the ones pretending to be my boss. He never emails me.
I have two chatty cats. I’m not great at interpreting what they are saying - sometimes it takes me a while to realise they don’t actually want food - they ask for cuddles, playtime, to go out, and for the litter tray to be cleaned. I’d love to have the time and patience to teach them to use word buttons! Mine are currently both off their food (and I’m away from home looking after a relative who has just come out of hospital), so have either eaten something nasty outside or have a bug. Thanks to connected feeders and cat flap I know roughly what they are up to so was able to reassure my neighbour (who is looking after them) that they were both in, and that one of them has started eating again.
i’ve tried lots of food - the one they will consistently eat is Untamed, which I get on subscription. They have the tins and biscuits. I tried Katkin but they weren’t consistent. Lily’s kitchen they will eat rather than starve, but most others they’d rather starve than eat. I do also make food for both them and the puppy, which the cats get once a day and the puppy gets it in his Kong.1 -
Hope you are chatting back to Chloe. And if in doubt (& if Mr KK like tuna) get the tuna in spring water. The water is great for kittens that don't feel hungry - they normally suddenly remember what the food bowl is for. Lots of water (obviously) and tuna taste which most cats like. I never gave ours much of the actual tuna in case they decided that was a good meal and refused the zooplus stuff or whatever.

Another one who nearly fell victim to a scam - I went to pay for some car parking in a nearby city and there was a QR code on the side. Luckily before I entered my card details I became uncomfortable and stopped. I looked it up later and its a well known scam - someone just sticks the QR code on and hooks you in, especially if you are queuing. You don't expect to find it on work documentation though, but I guess nothing safe these days.
Our rescue cat started 'talking' when he was about 3. Doesn't stop now. I read somewhere that they don't speak to other cats and that they match their owners voice. After he's been out sometimes he comes in very vocal so we have long conversations about what he's been up to outside, otherwise it tends to be about cat food and treats."Think of many things, do one"

Gosh, how rotten that the work docs had a scam code in! Can't believe you'll have been the only one - why would that have been suspicious?! I hope work will be able to trace it and find out who replaced it. Hope your card arrives quickly too!1

How annoying on the scam. That's shocking.
On the cat - mine gets what it is given. It only likes Wh1***s dry food - chicken - and likes some meat sticks. Occasionally he goes through phases where he wants meat in jelly - but will eat it one day and not the next. He like chicken skin a lot though - and the dregs of chicken / other meat - but you are veggie so I suppose that's harder for you.
On the xmas decs thing - he probably thought he was being helpful - but I'd have felt pushed out in that situation too so it was probably a no win situation. He also can't undo it. Hope you are feeling better. You've had a hell of a lot going on. It's not surprising you are feeling raw. Hope you have a better 2025.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

hope life is happier.. Stress can make people close down or be abrupt.
on the cat food.. I used to cook up a bit of cheap meat - liver, heart, kidneys with some cabbage and it lasted for a few days and they LOVE the juice slightly warmed.. -
Hows the new job (boo to the scam on work paperwork!)DON'T BUY STUFF (from Frugalwoods)
No seriously, just don’t buy things. 99% of our success with our savings rate is attributed to the fact that we don’t buy things... You can and should take advantage of discounts.... But at the end of the day, the only way to truly save money is to not buy stuff. Money doesn’t walk out of your wallet on its own accord.

Thanks all. Chloe is happy and being Cat again and Mr KK is more himself again, though perpetually anxious when she is out of the house ….
We’ve both finally finished today. I left at 1.15pm and used the extra time to pop to Toscos for big mushrooms for Mr KK’s steak dinner tomorrow night, so I don’t have to go anywhere tomorrow! 😊 I also took advantage of the extra time to do some tidying and clearing in the house as we both want the dining room table, the conservatory and snug clear! Mr KK joined in when he got home and all the Christmas decoration boxes are back in the garage and off the floor of the conservatory 😊👏
A nice surprise today. Site manager was wandering around with big gift envelopes for everyone and shaking their hands. Having been there only two weeks I kept my head down so there wouldn’t be any uncomfortable moments … But, he walked right up to my desk, gave me an envelope addressed to me, shook my hand and told me not to forget everything I have learned in the last two weeks! 😂 There was a £30 voucher inside - really chuffed 😊
Pretty tired but happy 😊

I really like that they hand them out in person. Mr Redos employer made me laugh - one 'all you can drink' party before they changed ownership followed by a few years of primly posted to home vouchers. There is a lot more value in the individual thank you for me but I always wanted to know just who had done what to stop the parties.

Lovely that they included you, sounds like you've found a good organisation there.2
