Poor scaredy cat Chloe!! Did she bap her reflection?? One of mine would bap the mirror tentatively to judge how friendly "that other cat" might be. And took great offence at a bag of mine that had a life size cat pictured on it.KKAs at 15.07.25:

DON'T BUY STUFF (from Frugalwoods)
No seriously, just don’t buy things. 99% of our success with our savings rate is attributed to the fact that we don’t buy things... You can and should take advantage of discounts.... But at the end of the day, the only way to truly save money is to not buy stuff. Money doesn’t walk out of your wallet on its own accord.

I have slept and slept this morning. Just couldn’t wake up. Stayed in bed, sleeping, two hours longer than normal and got up to find Mr KK had fed Chloe! 😂 I have a bit of sore throat so I suspect I needed it.No major plans today. Tidying, make a start on bark shifting (I have two cubic metres on the bottom of the drive to spread around the garden - it’s become a traditional Christmas chore to renew all the bark paths 😊), Mr KK’s washing wrangling and put the Toscos delivery away. Get that lit done and I will be happy 😊

Bless little ChloeMade it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became
In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!2 -
Washing wrangling pretty much done, after a late start, three loads!Much sitting in the sofa - Mr KK modelling at nine end, me cross stitching and reading at the other end, Chloe a peaceful, chilled out puddle in her bed under the Christmas tree.Mr KK did some wrapping and I did try to get out in the garden, but as soon as I was togged up and brought a wheelbarrow round to the bark bags it started throwing it down with windblown rain - I admitted defeat 😉🤷♀️😊
Updated all my financials instead and realised that I have some adjusting to do because of the shift of my pay date landing on last day of the month at my new employer where it used to be on the 25th of the month. My credit card payment is due on the 28th as is my (fairly large) monthly contribution to the joint account. I will transfer myself the gap for the joint account payment now from savings, and then I should be paid something at the end of December 🤞
Also contacted the CC company via chat and after some delay and a bit of back and forth, have moved the monthly payment date out to the 5th of the month. I will pay the whole balance off the card now though, as it seems to be running quite high.KKAs at 15.07.25:

The weather is the boss!
Chloe being a peaceful chilled out puddle in her bed under the Christmas tree is soothing my heart ❤️
Do you feel like maybe you want to have another conversation with Mr KK about contributions to the joint account? I know you have a great relationship and both contribute in different ways, but if there's underlying discomfort on your part about finances then new job change of pay dates and CC running high is the ideal time to bring it up2 -

I’m reading through my year on here so I get a sense of what we have achieved, where we’ve won, where we need to focus next year etc. As well as the banter and the shared life experiences, the thing that comes through really clearly, is how kindly and effectively people here call things out. For me this is a critical aspect of true friendship.KKAs at 15.07.25:
