Another very on / off day with the rain again here ….
- Curtains adjusted in the snug so they close properly. This became something of a fiddly job, as when I was taking them down quite a few of the old rail hanging hooks snapped. However, I was able to ‘shop from home’ (aka rummage around in the Drawer of Doom in the kitchen and was able to replace all of them - I even wielded a screwdriver! 😉). NSD protected and no fuel used to go and find some 😊
- Made another big batch of left over, sad veggie and lentil soup. Letting it cool and then I will get it batched up and into the freezer / fridge etc.
- More CV work done. It is very dull but I am starting to get into the rhythm of it now.- Found LCs’ vaccine passports. Spoke to lady who will be covering Cattery when we drop them off as the usual chap is also away on holiday. Mr KK is fretting that they will fight if cooped up together but I think they will be so intimidated that they will actually be glad of each other’s company. Anyway, lady said she would separate them if need be. After a third attempt, tracked down a neighbour who can take our bin in next week so the house doesn’t look quite so obviously ‘away’. Will message next door neighbours (who usually do it for us) to say I have it sorted for them as well 😊
- Cleaned another cupboard front in the kitchen plus a set of drawer fronts during post lunch washing up.- Gave the microwave a deep clean. I barely use it (only for defrosting) but Mr KK uses it daily. I think we need to speak about a weekly wipe down as it was starting to ‘evolve’ in there … 😳😂
- Paid builders merchants bill. Worked out what half of that bill and half the TV would be and told Mr KK so he can pay me back ….
- Restarted knitting my sleeve. From scratch. Again …. Sigh … I will not let this <expletive deleted> pattern beat me (it really is like reading code ….)
- Spoke to mortgage broker and we are agreed on the deal to go for. We have to pay a £999 fee upfront for it but the Coop systems aren’t quite aligned yet so I need to remember to do that Friday pm. I have re-run the monthly mortgage payment (£1808.22 - yes, @f0xh0les I can feel you urging me on to round up that number! 😂), through my budget and because it has dropped from the previous re-mortgage option we had secured, we now have c. £42 excess in the joint account each month rather than £7 (the latter was a bit tight! £40+ feels a lot more comfortable. 😊). I will let the joint account savings quietly tick up and then I should be able to start diverting some of that monthly ‘slack’ to OPs.Is it VERY sad that I am getting excited about setting up and starting to make my little, tiny, OPs on this new mortgage….?? 🤔😂😂😂😉- Had a ‘Hello, how are you, this is the status of your policy’ letter from the life assurance people. In the event of either of us dying we have enough cover to pay the mortgage off and have c. £22K left over. This is good. I will show Mr KK this before filing it away.KKAs at 15.07.25:

Must have been a fixing curtain rails type of day, the pulley cord came off the end-of -track 'polo' again this morning. So I was up a ladder at 7.05 with the designated screwdriver that lives on top of the nearby bookcase, solely for that job. It takes longer to get the flippin' ladder up than to actually fix it. Mind you I have 6 years experience of pinging the polo all over the living room floor. Yes, that £8.22 would seriously do my head in, but you will get your new updated for every £1 borrowed you will repay £ X.XX statement. You can't plan anything before you see that. Exciting times!4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

You have reminded me that I exploded mushy peas all over the microwave and have yet to clean it up! Another productive day, well done, especially on shopping from home. Great you've decided on the mortgage, and you know the life assurance is in place. I would also be excited about new mortgage OPs 😁3

A steady day here … 😊
- Felt a bit meh this morning (very tired and flat) so ducked all physio / yoga / strength work and had an early breakfast instead
- Chilled on the sofa watching W@rrior Nun with various muddy cats wiping themselves down on me …! 😉😂
- Managed to get my bed changed and all bedding through the WM and on nature’s tumble dryer - pretty much dry by the time I brought it back in - just finishing off on the heated airer. Stripped, packed up and put away the winter weight duvet that has been living on the floor of my bedroom and I am finding waaaay too hot atm. This duvet cover also got swept up into the washing session.- Went round to a neighbour’s for a cuppa and then a walk with her dogs - mad spaniels - we walked c. 1/2 mile, they of course did c. 4 miles in the same time 😉
- Cleaned down a further 3 cupboard fronts after the lunchtime washing up. The change is becoming visible in the kitchen now 😊 Also attacked a section of floor in front of the hob.
- Spent 90 minutes in the garden clearing one of the veggie beds - got it c. 1/2 done 😊
- Saw a job I really like the look of - a not for profit, local commute and a specific technical requirement that I suspect will be quite rare in the not for profit sector …. It’s on a salary band which is £10K less than my minimum salary band …. but … it matches a lot of things on my vision board … so … okay Universe, I will give that a try …. 😉 A job for tomorrow. At least it will give me an incentive to get my CV finished! 😉

I have finally accepted defeat, given up trying to read your whole diary and am just joining you in the present moment 😂. I have a terrible habit of wanting to read diaries right through which means I miss out on actually chatting and cheering people on!Good luck for the charity job application 🤞🏼.Part time working mum | Married in 2014 | DS born 2015 & DD born 2018
