I don’t see him as evil btw. That would suggest malicious intent. I don’t think he even has that much interest in me. I do think that he is flailing around and yes, I do think that the others on the call were fairly excruciated by what he did ….

I’ve had a text chat with a friend who used to work in the same place and a big hug from Mr KK (who struggled to stop expleting 😉). 

I will not let this thoughtless, fearful, weak, fool win.
I will work to the end and do my best. For me and the people I have enjoyed working with.

My what a wonderful response from all and sundry.  I think we all know that everyone else that deals with him sees him for what a complete and heartless bustard he is.  That's he doesn't see it is immaterial.  Everyone else does and it will come back to sit and s&it on his head.  

On a completely unrelated note I was thinking of you when I posted a polenta recipe on the "what I'm making for dinner" thread.  Fresh corn polenta with roasted tomatoes and garlic.  Made it last week and it was lush in the extreme.  If you were here I'd make some for you as a special treat.  But I'd have to go buy a fresh basil pot as someone's husband didn't water things while she was away.

Whatever upset or upheaval, at least you know you'll never be him. 

Maybe casually log that incident in with an email to your union rep and HR, just in case any financial or leave wrangling comes up, and so the union is further informed about how to better protect whichever poor sod has to try to do your role next
