So impressed with how you handled an incredibly difficult meeting. What a total **** that man is (insert swear word of choice). I’m not surprised you’ve felt less able to post with all that is going on. Hope this end bit goes quickly so you can decompress soon.4

I can’t swear on a forum but really. You are so better off out of that malarkey but I am horrified he can get away with behaving in that way & it’s acceptable to the company.Stay strong. Have we mentioned how utterly wonderful you are @KajiKita? Smooth, silk-lined, the consummate professional. Unlike Juggins of the Year; no make that the Century. Nemesis is surely coming for his job...please keep us posted. None of us want to gloat but how satisfying it will be when that house of cards comes crashing down. We're standing by for all the gory details; or full disclosure as you'd probably put it in uber-velvet-lined mode. Gosh what a posse of devoted admirers you have here. Thank you, thank you, thank you @savingholmes, @f0xh0les, @Brie, @Cheery_Daff, @redofromstart, @skintspice, @LadyWithAPlan, @PennysIntoPounds, @SandyShores, @ladybird1106, @maggiem, @beanielou, @Humdinger1 and @Watty1 😊 I have been sharing all your comments with Mr KK and they have made us both smile 😊 Your faith in me is so powerful and uplifting.
Dunno about remaining holiday, but having read the letter summarising the discussion, I see they are aiming to have me leave by 30th September, so only 7 working days from now ….! 😳😂😊
That would mean I avoid the big faluting visitors that are due in at the beginning of October and want to eviscerate us about quality … 🤷♀️ Fine by me. I think it probably will happen as the draft agreement is already produced by the company lawyers (pinged up on my work home after I got in) so the union solicitors can start looking over it tomorrow.Spoke to my senior quality engineer this morning to let him know that I thought that I would be leaving quite quickly and what I would share with him that he needs to know about. Boss also spoke to me first thing this morning and asked me for a list of everything that I am working on so he can delegate it and keep it moving 🙄 and the detailed structure of the team and who does what … I recommended that senior quality engineer does RTWs and holiday bookings for the team (lifts the load off my boss and means some continuity for my team). I have also decided that once the agreement is signed I will become very selective with what meetings I attend and will just get stuck into clearing as much as I can before I go, especially in terms of supporting my team.Mr KK and I are quietly plotting a few days on the south coast somewhere (nothing extravagant!). It will be my first actual holiday in two years … 😊
Slept really well last night, felt really upbeat and happy driving to work this morning and exhausted and worn down by the end of the day ….. Hmmm … 🤔😂😂😂😉

In my (senior HR professional) experience and opinion when the line manager starts trying to justify like that in that situation it is usually because they know that they are wrong. I shut them down because it isn't about them by that stage, but it takes a strong HR person to do that. My job was to protect the company, not the manager or the employee sadly although I would try to do so if I could.
Even when there is goodwill and friendliness left in the relationship it is hard to work those last few days or weeks, and I am glad you have the prospect of a break to look forward to.
Do not take any holiday, if you have any accrued but untaken on the final day of employment then you want to be paid for it and this should be set out in the settlement. That pay is taxable. Your actual compensation payment may not be, depends on the wording. Ex gratia payment for loss of employment can be tax free up to £30k, compensation for unpaid notice may be taxable. £xk for loss of employment is probably safe, £XXXX.23 is probably not as the tax people assume a notice related calculation but your union and their legals will be able to advise.

Hi @redofromstart, I won’t take any holiday - there is still too much to be done! And yes, this will be paid, along with notice, benefits etc. My compensation payment will not be taxed and it is a round £K number. The Little Cats are marauding with vigour 😉 Chloe, more often than not, sits on me just before bed now for half an hour ❤️ Little princess is welcome to some chicken flavoured kibble 😊
Paid Mr KK for half of the materials for the rendering and the new double glazed panes that need replacing - the latter came in at £90 which I didn’t think was too bad for heritage style panels. I think they will make a big difference to the cold spots in the house this winter.Statement for joint account turned up today. £50 surplus sent off to joint savings. Other £50 surplus sent off to OP and 53p TT sent off as well 😊 Unfortunately the TV seems to be on the blink …. This doesn’t bother me in the slightest but Mr KK is VERY perturbed….

I knew you would have it all in hand.
That's a great price on the replacement glass. I might get quotes sooner rather than later on that basis if it got us through the winter warmer. Thank you for sharing. My mortgage free diary: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6498069/whoops-here-comes-the-cheese

Well done, yet again. Good idea to be selective about meetings! (Personally I'd also be selective about the level if helpful detail I gave i my the handover but I realise that's a spiteful approach you may not want to take!) 😂
Good to hear replacement double glazing will make a difference to heat. We're having four panels and a full window replaced soon (sadly about £1500 all in). Hoping it will make things warmer, although they're already in the warmest bit of the house so probably won't make much difference to the cold bit! 😂3
