If it was the Nielsen panel, I don't blame you for quitting - it was hard going and I quit too. But if you can get on Shop and Scan, it's not much hassle and the rewards are good.
Don't blame you on the seat thing - but is it worth factoring in a high-end valet service cost if it'll open up more options?
Do you think tracking NSDs would work for you? Feel free to ignore me, but you do seem to spend most days and if you were aiming not to, might it help? Appreciate this might be a step further than you'd want to go (it doesn't work for me), but thought I'd mention it.Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

Yes daisy but what are these stains? 😱 I’m not sure if a valet might cost more than the car Vix 😆It was Nielsen! I remember sitting on the hall floor with a pile of shopping going through it for what seemed like 2p 😆 will look at shop and scan though thanks.I don’t often do the planned NSD thing really, I probably do it around three times a week anyway but I do like to get out most days and it does sometimes involve buying the (more than) odd coffee 🙄 I’m not sure that I wouldn’t just spend more on spend days though just to rebel 😂MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁2

If rebellion is the result, perhaps NSDs are not for you! Could you take a coffee in a mug from home and meet people for walks instead of shops? I totally get needing to get out of the house - maybe this would help with the walking as well as the cost? I also appreciate that it's difficult to change ingrained habits with friends - but they may also be looking for a change and don't know how to approach it - it's that time of year after all.Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

I do go for the odd forest walk with a coffee Vix (although the parking costs more than the coffee 😆) but we tend to meet up in a coffee shops as we want to get out and we do sit for a couple of hours chatting, which might get a bit hard going in winter , we did that in lockdown and it got cold. I was asked for breakfast this week with a friend and we are just meeting for coffee, so I’m trying 😆
Another point is although with best friend I have said how I’m trying to cut back and clear the mortgage, I’m not sure anyone except dh and perhaps the kids really know what that entails if you don’t have a massive monthly household income and want to make big overpayments, if I said I didn’t want to pay for coffee out she would worry and try to pay for me! So I try and keep things looking as “normal” as possible if that makes sense.
Spending update:- Wilko £6.85 on storage to sort through hall drawers where paperwork is shamelessly shoved in and ignored for years! Including a fab pink box file for 35p 😬

Morning Newgirly I meet my friend in *etherspoons as it’s free refills. Saves on the heating as well if you opt to sit by a radiator. I expect you know this anyway. I did have a coffee out but used my Costa gift card so a freebie. I don’t have coffee out very often as we have a fancy coffee machine. I have the syrups as well xx2025 Decluttering 10472⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Oh I know you try NG! Is there anywhere you can go for a walk that doesn't involve the parking costs? Or could you get/would it be worth getting an annual parking pass (if such a thing exists)?
Totally get what you mean about people offering to pay when it's self-inflicted frugality - it's not the way to go at all! But Mrs Money Penny makes a really good point about Wetherspoons!

I wish there was a Wetherspoons nearby, there’s one in the town near where used to work which I went to at Xmas, they had a large security team there if that gives a picture of what it’s like 😱 the one I found in York at new year was nice though but a bit far 😆
Hi Vix, I did get a pass for the local forest place a couple of years ago but I didn’t get enough use to cover it really, there’s a nearby one that only charges £2 a day (instead of nearly £3 per hour) which I do go to sometimes but it’s a bit small and busy. Will try’s and go for more walks around town if I can I think. Spending today :- £20.43 Aldi food

Ooh, I've been to the York one! It was very surreal sitting there and seeing a coach out of the window which was destined for a town about 8 miles from home (York is some distance away 🤣!)Mortgage start: £65,495 (March 2016)
