Hi tryharder, thanks 🙂
Hi MMP, little kitty is a happy cuddly tornado, big kitty is still very nervous and not settled yet. We are still in regular contact with the breeders and hopefully she will settle in time. The elderly ladies that we got her from said since Covid they had no visitors at all and as the was already an adult now it may have had an impact. She is improving but very slowly, we have tried most things now and are currently at the ignore her totally when she does pop her head out stage 😁
Hi Vix, thank you for the gentle prod 😆 I have been considering this lately since I’ve got stuck back in with the overpaying. After getting made redundant I did think I’d take a couple of years at home and I guess that’s passed now! I am actually working from home for dh doing his extra work but I do have time to do a fair bit more really. I was going to start an online business selling products we could make but my indecisiveness /laziness got in the way 🙄 I use to do surveys many years ago but after hitting the £40 payout in one poll I quit as it took so long! Perhaps it’s something to revisit now though. I’d rather work from home or for myself as when we are mf I want dh to work a lot less so we can go off on adventures.
In York today, we had a horrid journey in the rain first thing with broken wipers which dh paid to get replaced when we got here, ds1 and girlfriend are coming tomorrow to stay the night before we drive back, it may have to be a dinner out as I’ve not seen him before Xmas plus we have no food for them. I have now located Wetherspoons though and it’s a five minute walk from the flat, no idea how I didn’t know this after coming so often 😂
Spending update :- £3.65 m and s bread and crisps
- £2.49 electric toothbrush heads
Total now £1802.17/ £1800 a £2.17 overspend 😩
Dh got paid today, it’s the first time ever they did’nt put the pay through before Xmas and to top it off no Xmas bonus either ☹️

Definitely recommend Prolific in that case - you can easily make £20/month and much more with more effort. It’s flexible and easy money - not like one poll at all! It’s obviously not going to be the answer on its own, but it’s definitely the best survey company out there.

Thanks Vix I shall look into joining today 🙂
Back home after a nightmare drive yesterday - 5&1/2 hours 😩 the wipers broke while there so Halfords fitted new ones and then they went all funny on the way back, luckily only 2 miles from home so we drove slowly in the rain. I didn’t spend any more money but dh spent lots from his personal allowance (he doesn’t usually spend much) as ds1 and girlfriend came and met us and stayed one night and he asked if we fancied a curry out, so we paid for it all as he had been away over Xmas and we have never taken them out before. We also met some of her family as they came to town and we went to a pub for a couple of hours. So it wasn’t the spending free trip I’d hoped for but at least it didn’t affect my finances 😆
So exciting it’s nearly the start of a new year, I hate NYE we don’t even bother staying up, but I love the chance to make plans for the year ahead. This year it will be surviving on a self inflicted low budget so we can overpay this never ending mortgage 😂 I shall have a think though and pop back later with some more thoughts on what should be achieved this year alongside that! Ill also be reading lots of diaries to see what everybody else’s plans are for the new year in the hope of stealing some ideas 🙂

Well I’m on the waitlist for prolific now 😬 in the new year I have a few ideas to make a little extra but it mainly involves being creative with the grocery budget and cutting down my spending. I’ve actually done just that as a fiend asked for a breakfast date this week and said it will have to be coffee as I’m on a diet 😆 Meeting for a coffee is to me quite important though as it’s relatively cheap to be able to get out and chat for a couple of hours somewhere warm, whilst also getting out of the busy house 😁
I thought about doing a yearly plan but it’s more a rough outline as things change so much, I will also do a monthly update on what i’d like to achieve, it seems to have worked with sticking to a budget the last three months so perhaps it will stop the procrastination somewhat 🙄🍾🍾🍾🍾🍾🍾🍾🍾🍾 2023 PLANS 🍾🍾🍾🍾🍾🍾🍾🍾🍾

Thanks everyone thanks everyone, happy new year to you all too 🍾
I’m not up late after partying, just woken by them all coming in from the pub late and cooking toast and waking the cat up 😂 just been searching for a new old car online, they are getting small and smaller, I wonder can I persuade dh to go from a 3.0L sports 4x4 to a 1.0L ? Some have £30 a year tax, which would be a saving of £348 a year without the fuel savings 🤔 would have to have a word with mum about sometimes borrowing her car to travel to York though as I’m not sure I fancy it in a tiny car, plus not sure we would get cruise luggage in it 😆 will see what he thinks in the morning…..MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁3
