We had a busy Halloween opening the front door 😆 luckily we had a LOT of kids , probably at least 60 😱 we had one of those rubber flexible big bucket things full to the top with wrapped wedding sweets that were left over, they made a good dent in it though.

Ebay sales have paid out whoohoo and I’ve just topped up the Xmas girls day out to the £60 target and have also got £120.94 towards the £200 target for dh and I to go to York. So pleased with that, however I might take a break for a week as we are away.

The holiday pot for CP’s has been hit a bit with food and logs and I can’t remember what it was to start with but it’s now £71.29 🙄 might have to raid the York pot if we run short! 

• Spending £688.85 / £1800 for three months 
• £57.91 Tesco delivery today 
• An overspend of £62.93 so far 
• I’m going to try and catch up in NOV by having a budget of £504.79

It’s a wonderful city isn’t it, I hope she’s enjoying it there 😬

Meeting best friend for coffee this morning, then home to do more work as dh as it busy at the moment (the private work he’s taking on) he’s trying to build up a cushion as his boss/tennant who rents our factory can be very slow paying the rent and money owed 🙄 I can only do some elements of this work though as it’s very skilled and he’s been doing it a very long time. Hopefully with the mortgage cleared he can then do what he wants work wise.

Spending today : 

• £2 nuts for the squirrels 
• £3 sparklers for the weekend 
• £4 tights 
• £6 battery tea lights and candles as we have nearly run out 
• £4.80 ph shower gel for me
• £12.90 coffee and brekkie for best friend and I 

Total spend now £721.55 / £1800 a £76.07 overspend now.

Got a free farmhouse loaf on the M&S app today, and also received another £4.14 from fleabay , plus found some foreign currency in the hall draw (dh’s I think) but finders keepers 😆 so changed it up and got £20.95 😁 have put both amounts into the York savings pot.

Spending for yesterday was £1.50 on Xmas popcorn at the German Xmas market I visited, today I will put £40 diesel in the car as we are off to centerparcs, if I take it out the holiday budget there will be nothing left though 😆 so it’s coming out of the £1800 budget 😩 

Total spending : 

• £1.50 popcorn 
• £40 diesel 

Total now £763.05 / £1800 which is £78.45 over budget. 

Hopefully the next few days will be zero spend while away bar the £50 I have left in the centerparcs pot.

Just popping into say hello! I love the sound of the weekends away you have planned, that's the vision DH and myself have for our future so it's nice to hear about your plans, even if we are 10+ years away! York was our closest city before we moved a whopping 12 miles further away. DH and I both used to work there, it is absolutely beautiful, except when it floods! I used to be a manager for a store that had a basement showroom and was a listed building, the lift shaft would flood a few times a year and meant we couldn't use the old rickety lift until I could get someone in to sort it, that was fun! Hi Thrifyish thanks for popping by, I can imagine that was a pain as it seems to flood quite a lot in some areas in York, lovely city though. I hope you can squeeze in some cheap weekends away sooner than 10 years 🙂

Centerparcs ok, good Saturday but a total washout Sunday 😩 we came home Sunday afternoon, logistically it was hard work have two 3 bed lodges and everyone eating and sittting together in one every night , but it went quite well and they had the Xmas lights up through the forest which is so pretty. 

• £40 holiday diesel I was taking from the budget but now is coming from the holiday pot, also bought bread and squirty cream, total holiday spending £42.10 so £1.89 left to transfer to savings 😆
• More diesel yesterday £25 
• Tesco delivery for today £47.27
• Poundland, cleaning / toiletries/crisps  knitting needles and wool £18.50
• Coffee and tea cake for best food and I yesterday £10.60

Total spending so far £824.42 / £1800 which is £61.30 over budget 

As it was raining so hard we ended up cancelling table tennis (a long walk!) and a horse and carriage ride so I got a refund of £68.75. 

Now I’m sending £53.97 to the take dh to York before Xmas pot which will hit its £200 target and the other £14.78 plus £1.89 left from the holiday pot will go to the northern lights cruise fund!

Glad you got your refund. I'm never quite sure we would get our money's worth from centre parks. I did toy with the idea of taking our lot next year but the doubling of easter prices put me off.

It is so expensive, if you were going to try it I’d go for an out of season time not peak if you can at all! 

This week has been a bit crazy, I’ve taken my aunt out for the day shopping at the start of the week as she came over, then ds1 asked for a lift to the airport for the following morning for a 6.45am flight 😱 so I said yes and ended up driving back at 4 am alone down many dark country lanes doe to the m25 being shut with protestors, very scary 😆 The same day DIL’s headache (nearly had it 2 months and waiting for a mri) got worse so I went to the pharmacy who said go to A&E - 10 hours later they gave her some pain killers and sent her home ☹️ So it’s been a bit stressful! 

However, there is some nice news this week, ds2 and Dil came home while dd and dh were over for dinner with a kitten as a surprise for me 😱 I’ve been looking for a while now, after losing the last one it’s already been decided we need an indoor only cat so I’ve been looking at very elderly rescues and Siamese /oriental kittens (like our 19 year year old who passed away in lockdown) I’d spotted one who was perfect but way too expensive and had subsequently sold. Except it was to dh and ds2 , dd and dil who had all chipped in and reserved her a few weeks ago! 

I’m very grateful however very uncomfortable as it’s so much money, dh wanted to wait until he had saved enough and surprise me but dil insisted it had to be this one so they all chipped in, I know that some of them really can’t afford it. So I want to pay them back via dh so they think I don’t know or they might refuse it! 

Anyway, she is a 16 week old oriental and after trying out a few names still doesn’t have one 😂
