Hope you managed to get tickets, NG. I hadn't heard of it before, but I logged on about 15 mins after they went on general sale and by the time I got through the queue the only seats they had were £250 each 😬 As BF said, once we've added on the cost of getting to London/hotel/dinner/breakfast etc, that's the cost of a holiday. C'est la vie!

Hope you didn’t get too too wet out walking Mrs money penny 🙂

Oh no Sc , that’s a shame ☹️ There were some very expensive ones, I went the other way and got is the cheapest restricted view ones at the top but there was not much choice though and I asked ds2 who said yes and told me to just get for ds1 as well , so I got six in the end, two plus four behind but we had to get midweek. I’ll give them to the kids ( and us) as one of our Xmas presents. I guess we are lucky we can go for midweek if we have to, I did look at Saturdays but that was no go. Perhaps you might get lucky further down the line.

Still on the same boring topic, I’m not well 😆 very painful tongue and throat the night before last so as recommmened by best friend I went to a prescribing pharmacist and managed to get some antibiotics, he didn’t even look down my throat just listened to my chest, £30 but this morning it’s not quite as painful. Last night I also had my cardio appointment at a local hospital, private as there no clinical need to be checked , she congranulated me on getting hold of antibiotics 😂

I’ve no records of any post op echos as my hospital has shut now and lots went missing - this new lady was also based at Bart’s , so I’m having an echo next week. She said there’s no real need (mechanical valves are fine for life) but I feel much happier being checked every couple of years as you are at higher risk of other issues and as a worrier it’s worth it to me, so another £600 odd next week on top of the £220 consultation, I have been saving for 18 months though.

Dh has gone off to potter about at work, I’m going to have a lazy morning and maybe go for a brief drive out or garden centre visit later when he gets back. I’m also going to sort a couple of bags of clothes for charity out, there’s a new very large one opened fairly nearby and you can park outside. I’m getting vinted fatigue lately, I am occasionally selling bits for £1 that are at the back of the loft space and it takes me half hour to find them, some of it’s been up for a few years now and been reduced to the minimum you are allowed. So it’s the start of the big de clutter 🙂 The plan is little and very often, in the hope that dh will join in at some point and start on the log cabin.

Dinner today is a lentil dhal I got out the freezer yesterday and didn’t eat, chicken curry for dh and perhaps I’ll make a nice dessert for later to eat in front of the tv 😬

Taking the stuff to the charity shop sounds like a great idea - life's too short to scrabble about finding, packing and sending something you've sold for £1!

Thank you, it’s feels quite freeing actually now I’ve decided 😆 one large carrier full ready to go Monday when I take mum out and also three drawers of very old stuff cleared from the en-suite drawers today for the bin. I think that’s going to be where I start doing the whole house, there then our bedroom, then downstairs one level at a time leaving the kitchen and shed until last as they will be the hardest 🙄

Dh is at the cinema watching his third film of the day with ds2, I joined them for the first ( the social reckoning ) it was very good, I came home and deactivated my f@cebook account. Some of this I was aware of due to sil’s job and what he had told us while living here in lockdown, but I’d only half listened really. I’ve never been one to post on there and never wanted the kids ever tagged on there as children but the problems go way deeper than that as the film showed. It will do me a favour as I do waste time on rubbish online, nothing wrong with the internet but I feel I’ve been a bit mindless in my consumption recently. With that in mind, I’m going to also commit to reading for at least 15 mins a day. I’m all or nothing and in recent times it’s been nothing unless on holiday. The walking everyday is going well, even when I’ve felt poorly I’ve been even if it’s a very short walk, it’s carrying on the habit that’s the important bit. I’ve been a miserable old moo lately so some small changes might help 😁

I would have thought a quilt would be fine, then you can add blankets to that if needed? I'm not sure they really meant just blankets? The bedroom in my old flat used to get really cold (it had a radiator, it just wasn't very big, and the flat was a loft conversion, so the heat just went straight out of the roof), for several winters I had a double duvet, 5 or 6 blankets (some folded so I had a double thickness!), then a single duvet on top to keep them in place and look vaguely tidy - oh, and I would often wear clothes and always socks! I stay awake all night if I'm not warm enough, so it's a big priority! I have been known in hotels to get the spare towels out and lay them on top of the duvet for another layer if there's no blanket. Embrace the weight, I say - weighted blankets are all the rage!
