I agree with MFD's, accept her graciously as the gift she was given as. How wonderfully thoughtful of them, and serendipitous that you had been looking at the very same one!

She made me think of Dobby when I saw the front photo (it's the ears - and I know your love of Harry Potter), but then I saw the spotty back and now I'm stumped too!

She’s beautiful! Amazing ears and lovely markings on her back. 😍

Agree with the others - you do so much for your family, it’s lovely they wanted to treat you like this and I think you should accept it gracefully.

     Enjoy!!

Hi everyone, thanks 🙂 she’s settling in well now and finally has a name - Dotty (as suggested by Ramouth!) apparently we had dismissed that days ago but I’d forgotten according to ds2 😆 we must have gone through hundreds of names, it’s going to be short for Dolores (Umbridge) from Harry Potter even though it should probably be Dorothy. The main thing is we have something to call her and tell her off by when she’s balancing on the top of the tv or breaking stuff 😂

The finances have not been updated for a while now and it’s scary stuff! But the whole point was to be accountable and wrote it down good or bad, it’s bad obviously….

    • cat stuff (not including £££ food I’ve not got yet!) £30.98
    • Lunch at hospital £12
    • Diesel £50.06 (airport run and various other out of the ordinary trips)
    • Food £40.27
    • IKEA candles and baking trays £17.50
    • Dehumidifier for ds2’s room, asthma bad and no heating on a lot of the time! £40
    • £8 x 2 parking at hospital as went through twice 😡
    • £7 drop off fee at Stansted for ds1
    • £5.50 tights
    • £20 on a knitted Santa I did not need but have always wanted and saw at the local Xmas fayre 🙄
    • £13.06 coffee and hot chocolate stock up B&M
Total spending is now at £1076.79/ £1800 and £215.92 over budget 😩 I think the only way forward is to ignore that and instead of trying to catch up, divide what’s left by the remaining days of this year , so having done this instead of a £19.56 a day budget we now have a £15.06 per day budget.

I’ve also realised I forgot to budget for dd’s new Xmas tree for their flat I told her I would pay for last year, they didn’t move in until new year though. They have already bought one themselves so I will send them the money, it was £100 so I shall have to take it from the money I put by for the York trip with dh I made from selling stuff on fleabay , it was £200 so it’s half. I’m not actually sure he will have time to go this year anyway now as he’s busy with work,  hope so though and I will list some more stuff on eBay again this week and try and make the money back.

Good job we are not doing Xmas here this year that’s all I can say!
