    Spending update for yesterday:

    • £8.40 primarni cracker contents- lip balm etc.  for Xmas day (part of contribution to Xmas)
    • £2.50 cat bits including toy puzzle feeder
    • £5.85 m & s food
Also got more free Percy pigs on the app - Mrs-money-penny take note 😬

    Total spending now £1093.54 / £1800

Another dilemma is the cat breeder has emailed DIl (she’s been sending videos of the kitten to her 😆) and has said would we be interested in a 15 month old girl who is kittens aunt and was going to have a litter but they decided against it, they want her to have more attention and think she would be happy here, they would only want the money for the spaying and booster jab before she’s goes. I’m very tempted and it’s a very generous offer as they could easily sell her for probably £400 odd. Taking some time to think about it as kitten has settled in so well here, she even plays fetch! Is two indoor only cats too stressful I wonder, Siamese cats are more like dogs 😂

I tried to re-add the sweets (Colin here!) to my card on Monday and it wouldn’t let me - I’ll try again now you’ve said it’s been a month!

Two indoor cats here (bar a little pre-meal garden time). Twice as much poop to scoop (and litter tray space) and occasionally they have had enough of each other and fight, but otherwise I’d say it’s not much different to one, except they have company if you’re out/away and there’s more chance of a warm lap.

Delores is a great name and really suits her!

I’d be very tempted by taking her auntie too but would be a little wary of the cost. It’s not just the food and litter, it’s the flea treatment, wormer, vaccines and vets bills.  We totally underestimated how much our gorgeous girl would cost us.  The difficulty is that when taking on a new cat you have no idea if they will be super easy to keep (like our last cat who could eat anything and was never ill) or a have expensive problems (like our current cat with asthma and a sensitive stomach).

Perhaps it just comes down to budgeting - would the extra cat bring you more joy than say, one holiday per year you could otherwise spend the money on?

Hi guys, well we are collecting cat number two tomorrow afternoon 😆 We have had two cats years ago but not in recent times, hopefully being indoor cats will mean less chance of getting ill
    or injured.

I took dil to her outpatients appointment today and they can’t find what’s causing her constant headache (2 months long now), and confirmed she needs an mri scan, she was already referred for that two weeks ago and no letter so far.  I’ve tried to find out online rough wait times info but it’s not easy, we have offered to pay for her to go privately if she wants to, but so far she said hang on and see if the letter comes ☹️

No spending update yet today as I’m too tired, I did spend though so will do it tomorrow.

I went to the doctors a few weeks ago after my physio believed I needed either an x-ray or preferably an MRI.  I got the letter 2 weeks later for an appointment 2 weeks after that so 4 weeks in all.  I'm in the NW so I supposse it will be dependent on where in the country you are.

Definitely think indoor cats are healthier than outdoor ones - you just have so much more control over what they're eating and you can keep an eye on the other end too. If they're entirely indoors you can avoid paying for flea treatment, so that's a saving. If you haven't used them before, Zooplus are great for value - and they have a savings scheme, there's TCB available and you earn points which quickly turn into enough for some treats. Sorry, you probably know all that already, but I always feel like I've won when I order from them!

Hi Vix, thanks I think that might be the same website the breeder recommended I’ll take a look 🙂

Hi Badmemory, that’s pretty quick, I hope all is ok with you.

Well it’s been another very busy week, I managed to book an mri for dil for this Sunday a five minute drive away for £350, I’m happy with that as it means ds2 can go with her as he’s not got any holiday left, plus it’s nearer and quicker than elsewhere, it must have been a cancellation.

Second cat has been collected, a four hour round trip mostly in the dark and rain 😩 she’s very scared and is still hiding under the tv unit, we have emailed the breeder a few times for advice and we have had cats do this before so hopefully she will settle in time.

I need to update the finances, I have cancelled our trip to Poland next week and that along with the money put by for York for dh and I and will pay for the mri scan and cat (£200) with that. Actually other than that the spending has been low so maybe we are just about ok fingers crossed.

I'm just fine & waiting until Wednesday.  It seems if it is in a certain bit of your body they have to be very quick as it can lead to paralysis. which I would rather avoid.  I'm sure I haven't got it by the way, but better safe than sorry.  The doc was thorough I can't fault him (even if I was a tad sore after) it felt like he stuck pins in most of me from the waist down.  I'd much rather that than the "it must be in your imagination" brigade.

Goodness, fingers crossed it all goes well Wednesday for you, I’m glad you had a Doctor that listened.  I think had we not seen the dr at outpatients this week who was very thorough and ruled out migraines and repeated we need that mri, I wouldn’t have suggested going private. We have never been private for anything before but it’s a worry. Dil was at hospital last night with a poorly friend who had been to the walk in centre first which closed half way through the day as it was too overloaded 😱
