Have you tried FB marketplace for a bed / mattress? We have got lots of furniture from there including a lovely brand new mattress that the sellers opened the packaging of before realising it was too firm for them. Takes a while of looking for the right thing to pop up and can be frustrating but very MSE!1

I agree with @Ramouth marketplace has some incredible finds. It's also quite addictive.
I got my mattress from John Lewis and it was a really good price. I went recently to try out mattresses for my mum, we both agreed that their own brand line was comfier than the mid tier mattresses they had (didn't try the really fancy ones).1 -
Hi, yes I’ve been looking second hand for a bed for ages, although not a mattress I must admit. I’m just fussy, mainly I’m very lazy so know I’ll have to have this bed for a very many years which adds pressure to buying 😆
Dil is doing a month long sponsored 50k skate for the London childrens hospital, tonight she took ds2 on his skateboard for company, he came back with a big plaster on his elbow a stranger have him after he fell, he took the plaster off and there’s what looks like a bone in the wrong place 😱 he then went very grey and dizzy, so she’s just taken him to A and E, she doesn’t think he fell on his head but he didn’t seem very good. It’s an eight hour wait so she will see if he’s safe to come home and go to the walk in when it opens tomorrow. Feel a bit bad now taking the Micky when he came in and said he fell, terrible mother!MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁1 -

Ouch! That sounds like it definitely needed more than a plaster! Hope the surgery goes smoothly and he has a speedy recovery.2

Thanks 🙂 just waiting to find out when the operation will be, but we are supposed to be away from Saturday week ☹️ I don’t really want to go but it looks like it’s only transferable of you have Covid. Although the way things are going we at the moment that’s a possibility 🤦🏼♀️ will talk to dh tonight.Dils got a long medical appointment today and I’m at the doctors tomorrow, it’s all fun here this week!On a brighter note, the bedside tables are painted and drying and are probably going to be ok, I’ve ordered some fancy drawer knobs in the sale (squirrels, frogs and whales!) and will put a pair of quirky ones on the top of each set and the wardrobe door and then Poundland cheap plain brass ones everywhere else. Probably looking at a total cost of about £50 to renovate bedside tables, dressing table and mirror , large chest of drawers and triple wardrobe, I shall be very happy if it looks ok and does us a good few more years 😬
Also ordered some Halloween bedclothes from asd@ , sold out way before last year, some already sold out this year! But I’ve got some spooky pumpkin and cat ones for £12, well worth it, how can you not have Halloween bedclothes?MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁1 -
Ooh that injury sounds nasty, hope his operation goes well.
I feel like I'm seeing Autumn themed decor everywhere at the moment and I think August is going to absolutely fly by!
